TO FORGIVE THE UNFORGIVING

Morning had come both in daytime and the mourning of Brody's death. Aasim, Violet, Louis, Omar, Mitch, Ruby and myself had gone down to the basement where Brody's body still lay. Her head spilt open like Clem had said and by the looks of it smashed in as well. Smashed in? There must have been a struggle...

"Oh god..." Louis whispered under his breath while everyone held a grim look on their faces.

"We have to bury her. We can't just leave her like that. I'm sorry..." Violet spoke with a wavering almost crackled voice as she left the room almost in tears as Ruby followed her out. Clem did say they used to be close friends, the poor girl.

"I'll help you guys" I said with caution as they all looked at me a little stunned. "But only if you'd like me too. I know I didn't know her and quite frankly I get the feeling that she didn't like me or the other two either but still. I can't stand to see her like...this for any longer than I have to." they all had some sort of silent conversation and then finally answered me.

"Thanks Y/n, but I think we should move her on our own. Just us, you understand right?" Louis said with a half-assed lob sided smile.

"Of course! I'll be talking to Marlon if you need me." I told them and they all nodded before I left.

For once this place seemed...still? No one was moving around doing something productive, no laughter that was for sure, just still silence. I hate this feeling. Kept playing over and over in my head until I reached the door of the room next to my own which is now holding Marlon in. I knocked on the door and announced that it was me who was coming in.

And there he was, sat in the chair facing the window. Elbows leaning on the desk in front of him, head in his hands and his left leg shaking in a constant pace, an agitated pace. He sort of took his head out of his hands to notify that he did acknowledge that I came in and just hummed in response.

"The guys are moving her body now and will be burying her too. Once they've done that I'll come back to get you or we'll leave in a few minutes, it's your call."

"To get me? What for? They won't want me there, they'd most likely wanna bury me with her!" He half shouted in frustration.

"You're going there either when they're saying their goodbyes or after they have said them and we'll go out there together so you can as well." I wasn't going to back down from this, he needs to show them that he's sorry and this would be a start to show them that.

"Y/n I don't think you get it..." he finally took his head out of his hands sighing and stood up turning to look at me. He looked like shit. Hair all messy, dark circles under his eyes and he was paler than normal with some smeared blood on his face from last night. He looked completely drained and defeated but I wasn't going to go easy on him if I wanted him to understand.

"No, I don't think you 'get it'  Marlon! You are going out there to pay your respects because that's what most people do at funerals, they pay their respects and say their final goodbyes to their loved ones. She was your friend right? Well you will be going out there to show that one, you are sorry. Two, to pay respects and three, to say your final goodbye. Sure you could do that any day, but I think you'd regret doing it any later and end up hating yourself even more than you already do. So I'm not having this argument with you Marlon! If you have any pride and remorse left whatsoever, you would do this last thing. For. Your. Friend!" My chest was heaving at this point and he was a complete loss for words with his mouth hanging wide open. He stood up straight and coughed a little.
