As Gabriela had promised, the group took a walk along the shore at Venice Beach. Her family members ran off in front of her, leaving the girl alone with Jack. The sun was setting on their left, so Jack took this opportunity to make his move.
"Gabs," he began, grabbing her wrist gently. He stood facing her, stopping them on the shoreline. He bent down on his knee and reached into his pocket.
Gabbie gasped.
"Don't worry, I'm not proposing," the boy said with a laugh. He pulled out a small ring shaped like a wave and held it between his two fingers, looking up at the girl he loved.
"Gabriela, I was stupid to break up with you. I thought it would be easier for both of us, but I was wrong. I'm not sure about you, but I haven't been able to function properly without you. I miss kissing your cheek, watching you smile, you tangling your hands in my hair. I want this birthday to be special to you, so if you still feel the same, will you be my girlfriend?"
Gabbie was in tears. She pulled Jack to his feet and whispered, "Of course. I thought you'd never ask."
"Here's a promise ring. I promise to love you forever, never cheat, never let you down, never hurt you. I love you."
"I love you, too, Jack," Gabbie sobbed as Jack slipped the ring on her finger. She hugged him tightly around his neck, and pulled away to kiss him passionately.
Their first kiss in three months made them both realize how much they missed each other.
The two walked back to Gabbie's hotel room, which she had to herself. The pair walked into the neat, white room and locked the door. The sun was almost completely gone from the horizon, painting pink and orange lights across the room from the open balcony door.
"Gabbie, I should probably go," Jack whispered, kissing her knuckles.
"Don't go," Gabbie said lightly. "Please don't ever go."
"Alright, I won't," Jack replied. He leaned in and kissed her gently. She wrapped her arms around his neck and tangled her hands in his curly hair. Jack bit her bottom lip, deepening the kiss. She smiled in response, her lips still locked with his. His hands cradled the back of her neck, but slid down her sides to her waist.
He grabbed her thighs, signaling her to jump. She did, landing on his waist, her legs wrapped around him. He pushed her back against the wall, deepening the kiss even further. His lips left hers and trailed down her neck, leaving wet kisses. He nibbled on the soft skin below her collar-bone, making her let out a gasp.
Her hands found the hem of his t-shirt, and slid inside. She traced the defined ripples on his abdomen with her fingertips as he continued to kiss her neck. He picked her up from the wall, and flung her down on the bed. He quickly pulled his t-shirt over his head, exposing his tan abs. He smirked as he crawled back on top of the girl, kissing her passionately.
His hands reached for her shirt, but he stopped and looked deep into her golden brown eyes.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" He asked the girl. She nodded. "Absolutely positive?"
"Positive," she replied, immediately kissing him.
That night, the pair proved their love for each other.
