CHAPTER THIRTEEN: Wherefore Art Thou, Poppy?

Promises are over-rated.

I slept through Monday. Accidentally, of course. I even made the ultimately stupid mistake of not charging my phone, meaning it's not been on for a while and I am probably going to get quite the lecture on the matter, when I finally decide to get out of bed.

Once reviewing a very lengthy security establishment plan with Stevens and Dion, they finally let me drive to school with the compromise of calling the principal to increase his own security.

'Mayores' by Becky G notes on the station while I type in the school's destination and the total amount of time I have before I absolutely have to be in class. I think half an hour is rather decent and...perhaps enough time to stop for a hot chocolate.

Once back on route to the school, I notice I still have at least twenty minutes, considering the Royals and my friends are currently situated inside the cafeteria area, I'd say I have time to drop by before class.

My Aston Martin makes quite the entrance as I reverse into the closest park.

"Voice recognition. Return to originated destination." I say aloud, before turning to the bag in my passenger seat, hauling the handle over my shoulder and waiting as the door opens up.

"Voice recognition confirmed. Have a good day, Miss Parker..." The automated voice responds in answer.

"Why, thank you." I whisper before closing the door and walking from the curb.

I check my notifications and other recent emails as I make my way up the stairs, through the entrance, down the hallway and towards the cafeteria doors. While sending an email towards my manager currently situated in Hong Kong, I'm sadly, interrupted by a certain jock who still sports a shiner of mine, even after a week.

"Ah, Miss Parker, nice of you to finally show." An obnoxious Jace Daniels sits with a cheerleader on his lap when I make the complete and utter mistake of looking up to his rather annoying voice.

"Interesting of you to comment about it, Daniels." I say, briskly before turning away from his arrogant smirk, and it's not the nice kind, he reeked of revenge, that wasn't difficult to see through his eyes.

"Now, where are you headed on such a terribly awful day, Miss Parker?" He drops the cheerleader on the seat beside him, as minimal space as there was, the girl was able to balance herself before joining her other friends, not caring his usage of her to his advantage. She merely turned away, I would have been surprised by that, but I don't bother turning to him as him and his two friends follow casually behind me as I walk to my normal table.

He follows, "None of your business, Daniels. Now, move along." I say to him, ignoring his choice of conversation as I try to finish my email, though I still notice his rather irritating footsteps behind me. He's determined, and that's dangerous.
