Chapter 6: Sing-Off

(Natalie's p.o.v)

I'm sitting in my chair at glee club with Blaine and Kurt reassuring me I will do fine in the sing-off when Rachel walks in, face glowing with pride.

My stomach twists when I see how ready and prepared she looks. Blaine notices and squeezes my shoulder. "You're amazing. Don't forget that." he whispers in my ear. I smile at his kind words and pat his gelled hair.

"Good morning Mr. Schue. Nice vest." Rachel calls out smiling too hard. "Um, thank you Rachel." Mr. Schue says, confused to why Rachel is acting so kind.

"Okay let's get this started, shall we? I can't wait for this to be over with and I get my solo. I deserve." Rachel says.

I take a deep breath and stand up. I walk over to Rachel. "So what song are we singing?" I ask, trying to sound confident but failing. Rachel smirked "Hit it."

Rachel: "We're a thousand miles from comfort,

We have traveled land and sea.

But as long as you are with me,

There's no place I'd rather be."

Natalie: "I would wait forever,

Exulted in the scene.

As long as I am with you,

My hearts continues to beat.

With every step you take,

Kyoto to the bay

Strolling so casually

Rachel:" We're different and the same,

Gave you another name.

Switch up the batteries."

Together: "If you gave me a chance I would take it,

It's a shot in the dark,

But I'll make it.

Know with all of your heart you can't shame me,

When I am with you there's no place I'd rather be.

No no no,

No place I'd rather be. x3"

I watch as Blaine and Kurt cheer me on and I smile at them.

Natalie: "We staked out on a mission,

To find our inner peace.

Make it everlasting,

So nothing's incomplete."

Rachel: "It's easy being with you,

Sacred simplicity."

Rachel smiles at Finn and blows him a kiss.

"As long as we're together,

There's no place I'd rather be."

Together: "With every step you take,

Kyoto to the bay.

Strolling so casually,

We finish, smiling at each other. Rachel gives me a hug. She pulls away and runs to give Finn a hug too. They start kissing for a little too long so I look away.

Blaine walks over to me and picks me up while spinning me around. I laugh at him and he puts me down. "That was amazing!" Blaine says. "Thanks Blainey." I playfully stuck my tongue out at him. He sticks his tongue out back at me.

"So who won?" an eager Rachel asks. Everyone writes down their votes and gives them to Mr. Schue. "Natalie." Mr. Schue announces. I was speechless.

Did they really think I was that good? Rachel's smile faded. I decided to say something. "Could Rachel sing with me?" I asked.

They all stopped talking and stared at me. "You mean you want to give up your solo for Berry?" Santana questioned.

Rachel stood shocked that I would want to do a duet. "You want me to sing with you?" Rachel gasped.

"Of course." I smiled. Rachel squealed and wrapped her arms around me. "Thank you thank you thank you!!" she yelled.

The bell rang and it was time to go home.
