Chapter 9: Sleepover

(Natalie's p.o.v)

It's been a few days since Riley came to visit. We went to do everything we could around Lima. We ate at BreadStix, we went putt putt golfing, we went swimming, everything.

Right now, Riley was at my house watching YouTube while I have to go to school. She's leaving in 3 days. I try not to think about that as I walk down the hallway to my locker.

Blaine comes up to me with Kurt by his side. "Hey Blaine. Hey Kurt." I say. "Hey Natalie." they answer.

"I have something I wanted to ask you." I say. "Since Riley will be leaving soon, I wanted to do something fun. Would you want to have a sleepover with us?" I ask.

"That would be so much fun!" Kurt responds. "What do you say Blaine?" he asks eagerly.

"Um, well I don't know. I-" Blaine starts to say but Kurt cuts him off. "Come on Blaine! It will be fun!" Kurt exclaims. "Pleaasse." Kurt looks at Blaine with an expression so adorable that Blaine gives in. "Fine. We'll come." he says. "Yay!" Kurt kisses him on the cheek then runs off to his next class.

Blaine sighs. "Blaine. It will be fine." I tell him. "Riley won't steal him away." I say, playfully. Blaine's expression remains serious. "Alright." he says.

I give him a reassuring smile and we walk down the hall together.

It's the day of the sleepover and Riley and I are getting ready. "I can't wait!" she exclaims. "Who is coming again?"

"Blaine, Kurt, Rachel, Finn, Tina and Mike." I tell her. We finish cleaning my room and sit there for a few minutes until the doorbell rings. "COMING!" Riley and I shout at the same time.

"I'll race you to the door!" she yells. We run the hallway to the door and Riley gets there first. "Ha ha." she teases me. I stick my tongue out at her as she opens the door.

"Kurt, Blaine!" she shouts excitedly. Kurt laughs and gives her a hug. I watch as Blaine tenses up behind Kurt. He feels me watching him and he fakes a smile. I raise my eyebrows at him and he gives me a genuine smile this time. Blaine gives me a hug and I greet them. "Hi Blaine. Hi Kurt." I smile.

I invite them in and put their stuff down. "Kurt and I will get the snacks!" Riley says. Kurt laughs at her and they walk into the kitchen.

I look at Blaine who looks sad. "Blaine. It's fine, okay?" He nods at me, not convinced.

I take him up to my room. When I open the door he gasps. "You watch Tyler Oakley?" he asks. "Yes." I answer.

"He's my favorite YouTuber!" Blaine exclaims. I smile at him. "Mine too."

Kurt and Riley race into the room, followed by Rachel, Finn and Mercedes. I say hello and we walk downstairs into the living room. Soon, Tina and Mike arrive too. "Let's watch a movie." Tina suggests. "Okay. Which movie?" I ask.

"Mean Girls!" Riley and Kurt say at the same time. They both laugh and I put in the movie.

Kurt and Riley sit on the couch together, Rachel and Finn sit on the loveseat, Tina and Mike sit on the other couch with Mercedes, and Blaine and I sit on the floor.

Throughout the whole movie Kurt and Riley laugh with each other. Each time they do, Blaine whimpers so quietly that only I can hear.

"Blaine are you okay?" I whisper. Blaine looks at me and he looks like he's about to cry.

"Aww Blaine don't cry it's okay." I whisper to him. "Come here."

I take Blaine's hand and we quietly walk out of the room and slip outside.

"Listen Blaine. Kurt loves you. Only you. Riley and Kurt are just friends. That all they're ever going to be." I tell him. He shrugs "Okay."

"Blaine! It's true. Do you see the way he looks at you?" I ask. "It's just a movie Blaine. Kurt's just making a friend."

He slowly nods. "You're right." he sighs. "I'm making too big of a deal out of this." He smiles at me. "Thanks Natalie."

I give him a quick hug. We walk back in and sit down on the floor. I glance at Blaine and see that he actually looks happy. Relaxed.

At the end of the movie, Kurt and Riley laugh again and Blaine smiles up at them. He even laughs along.

This is finally turning out well.

It's going to be a great night.
