New Girl

Chapter 8: Riley

(Natalie's p.o.v)

"Riley?"

She jumps up and hugs me. I laugh at her and say "What are you doing here?" "I had to come see my friend!" she exclaimed. I brought her inside and she looked around the house. "Wow." she says. "Nice place."

"Thanks." I smile at her. "Come and see my room."I race up the stairs with Riley close behind. "Close your eyes." I tell her. She closes her eyes and I lead her into my room. "Open!" I shout.

Riley gasps as she takes in my room. She looks around my room at all of my posters. "Tyler Oakley, Troye Sivan," she says out loud. "You like?" I ask her. "Yes!" she squeals. Riley walks up to the wall of pictures I have hanging up.

It has pictures of us from fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh grade.

"Aw I remember that!" she says pointing to a picture of us at our fourth grade Halloween party.

She continues looking and points to a new picture I put up. "Is that him?" she asks. I look to see what she's talking about and see the picture of Blaine and I. "Yes." I answer.

"I have an idea!" I shout. "Come with me to glee club tomorrow and I'll introduce you to everyone!"

"Okay." she smiles. We sit down on my bed and talk for a long time. I tell her everything that's happened. She tells me what's happening at her school. I smile at her, glad my friend is here.

The next day I take Riley into the choir room to meet my new friends. "Attention everyone!" I shout. "This is my best friend Riley from my old school."

She waves at everyone. "Riley, these are my friends. That's Blaine and his boyfriend Kurt," I say smiling. They wave at us. "That's Finn, Rachel, Tina, Mike, and Mercedes." I tell her. "Over there is Artie, Quinn, Santana, Brittany, Sam and Joe."

They all wave at us and Riley waves back. I drag Riley over and we sit next to Blaine and Kurt.

At lunch, Riley and I sit next to Blaine, Kurt , Rachel and Finn.

Rachel and Finn sit talking to each other while Blaine, Kurt, Riley and I talk. "So," Blaine says. "How are you, Riley?"

"Great." she answers. Silence.

We sit there awkwardly until Kurt breaks the silence. "How long have you two known each other?" he asks. Riley's face brightens and she starts talking "Since kindergarten." she says. Kurt and Riley continue talking and laughing while Blaine and I talk.

"Well," I say after a while. "Looks like Kurt has a new friend." I laugh.

Blaine stares down at his food and messes with his fork. "Yeah." he mumbles.

Kurt laughs at whatever Riley just said and Blaine starts stabbing his food.

I stare at him. "Ooh Blaine," I tease him. "Is someone jealous?" I laugh.

"No." he says a little too quickly. "Okay, maybe." he says, face turning red with embarrassment.

"Don't be Blainey. Kurt loves you." I reassure him. He blushes and gives me a tiny smile. He turns and stares at Kurt longingly.

The bell rings and I say goodbye to Kurt and Blaine. I take Riley with me to the rest of my classes and then we walk back to my house together.
