Chapter 5: Rachel Berry

(Natalie's p.o.v)

The next day before glee club, Blaine runs up to my locker. "Natalie!" he shouts. "Hey Blaine." I say. "Come with me to glee club early so I can introduce you to everyone." he says. He grabs my hand and pulls me down the hall into the choir room. "Now wait here while I go get everyone else." Blaine tells me before running back out the door. I turn to find my seat and jump when I realize I'm not alone. It's the girl who rolled her eyes at me yesterday. "Hi. How are you?" I ask, trying to be polite.

"Hello." she snarls at me. "What's wrong? You seem angry." I question her. "Whatever." she responds. "What's your problem?!?" I shout before I can stop myself. She looks up at me. "Well, my problem is you." She rolls her eyes.

"Okay?" I respond. "Why do you have a problem with me?" She glares at me before saying "I am Rachel Barbra Berry and I am a star. I need and demand all of the solos." she states. "I'm the best singer in this whole club. I already call all of the solos and I don't need you to get in my way. You need to quit right away."

My mouth drops open. How can someone be so self centered? "Excuse me? I am not going to be leaving anytime soon. You need to understand that you can't have all of the solos. This is a club. Everyone can sing. Whether you like it or not." I spit back just as everyone walks in.

"We're here!" Blaine announces. "Oh hey Rachel!" She flashes him a smile before glaring at me once more. "Natalie, I see you've met Rachel."

"Yeah I sure did." I roll my eyes. "Well this is Finn," he says pointing to the tall boy. "And here is Mercedes, Tina and Mike." he points to the dark haired girl and Asian boy and girl. "That's Quinn, Brittany, Santana and Artie." He points to the three Cheerios and wheelchair boy. "Also, this is my, um, boyfriend Kurt." Blaine blushes. "Hey Kurt." I smile at the couple.

"So you're not going to stop being friends with me because I'm gay?" Blaine asks shyly. My mouth drops open again. "Blaine! Do you seriously think I wouldn't want to be friends with you because of that? Of course I'm still your friend!" I say, shocked.

He blushes more and gives me a small smile. "Okay." he says quietly. He mouths a thank you while walking to sit down with Kurt. I sit next to them.

"Alright class, let's begin." Mr. Schue says. Rachel raises her hand. "Yes Rachel?" She clears her throat. "For this weeks lesson, I will have all of the solos." she states.

Yells of protest fill the room, including my own. "That's not fair." Kurt says. "Yeah I agree." I add. "We should let Natalie have a solo this week." Blaine suggests. I raise my eyebrows. "You think so?" I ask. "Yeah totally." says Mercedes.

Rachel grunts in frustration. "There's only one way to settle this then." "And what is that?" I question her.

"A sing-off."

"Fine. Looks like we're having a sing-off tomorrow." I say. Rachel smiles, satisfied.

Frantic whispers fill the room after I agree to the sing-off and it makes me think that maybe this isn't such a good idea.
