I fell into an exhausted sleep where the wolf invaded my dreams. Though I knew I should have been, I wasn't frightened. As I stared into his beautiful eyes, I felt protected...like the wolf was my guardian.

The dreams continued through the night, expelling all nightmares as he walked with me in a full, lush forest with the full moon peeking through the trees. When I woke, the image of the wolf's eyes stayed in my mind.

I had only been awake a few moments before Mirella came bursting through my door, my wedding dress in her hand. I glanced toward the window and groaned. It wasn't even light out yet.

"Really?" I asked as I turned to her in annoyance. "Can't the sun at least have a chance to rise?"

"No," she said with a wide grin. She reached down and shook my foot. "It's your wedding day!"

"Come on!" I threw my arm over my eyes, wishing I could go back to sleep even though I realized she wouldn't let me. "Mirella, please. I was attacked last night. Can't I have just thirty more minutes?"

When I peeked at her, Mirella put her hands on her hips and sighed in annoyance when I groaned again.

"Get up," she pleaded. That smile stayed in place. I realized I was right. Mirella was not someone I wanted around first thing in the morning. She continued in a chirpy voice that caused me to wince. "You're getting married today. Most brides would be up by now. Don't you want to look beautiful? That takes time."

"Why did my mother let you in so early?" I whined.

I heard her giggle. "Because she didn't want to leave you alone," she chirped, making me wince. "She's already at the church, making sure everything is in order. Now, get up. You want to be beautiful for Andre, don't you?"

I moved my arm and peeked at her again, shaking my head in defeat. It would do no good to remind her this wasn't a normal wedding. The image of Katie chose that moment to pop into my mind. I pushed it away before it festered. I definitely did not need that thought when at least one hundred people would be staring at me as I walked down the aisle.

"What time is it?" I asked through gritted teeth as I glanced toward the window again.

"Six." She said it so brightly, I wanted to hit her. Her grin widened. "You're getting married at ten."
