Tony slowly opens his eyes, and goes to sit up when he feels a weight on his side. He looks over and sees Maddie sleeping, snuggled into his side. He remembers the nights events after a moment, and slowly lifts her head off his shoulder and stands up. He looks back at her and then walks out of the room, closing the door behind him. He walks to his room and gets dressed.
"FRIDAY is Maddie or Peter awake?" Tony asks his AI. "No, They are both still sleeping. Should I alert you when they wake up?" "No that's okay."
Tony goes upstairs to the kitchen to see all the Avengers eating breakfast. He takes plate and puts some eggs from the platter on the table, then sits down with them. Natasha talks first.
"I'm confused. Tony Stark decided to adopt not one but TWO kids. I'm not upset about it I'm just confused." "I feel the same exact way" Tony replies. Natasha's sarcasm kicks in and she says "Well that definitely makes me feel better about this whole situation and Peter and his sister's wellbeing." At that moment, Peter ran into the room looking panicked. Steve saw him first.
"What's wrong Peter?" Steve asked. "We forgot Teddy!" Peter said quickly and urgently.
"Whose Teddy?" Tony asked.
"Our dog! Well really Maddie's dog but he's still at the apartment!"
"You have a dog?" Tony asked. "Yes! Can he please come here? I know you don't like dogs but my parents got him for Maddie when we were three. And if we have to give him away..." Peter begged. "I don't know. Is he trained well?"
"Yes! Really well, he's a support dog." Peter replied.
"How big?"
"Well... he is pretty big. He's a Bernese Mountain Dog."
"How do you have a Bernese Mountain Dog in your small apartment? Also support dog?"
"When we were three, Maddie started having really bad panic attacks. The doctor said a support dog could help, and also could alert them if she was having a panic attack. So my parents decided it might be smart to get one, and she had been begging for a puppy anyway. They took me and Maddie to this place. They had all the support dogs in a room. Most of them were at least 2, but Teddy and couple others were still puppies, they learned faster I guess. Anyway my parents said Maddie could pick one. When we walked into the room, we got to play with the dogs for like 20 minutes before my parents asked her which one she wanted and she chose him. He was little at the time, but my parents knew he would get big, so they tried to talk her out of him. They expected her to pick a tiny dog. But they couldn't talk her out of him and felt too bad to say she couldn't have him. So that's how we ended up with him." Peter spit out.
"Why would a three year old be having a panic attack?" Nat asked.
"Um... there was some stuff going on." Peter responded. Nat could tell he was hiding something so she just nodded.
"I guess you guys can keep him." Tony announced. "Thank you so much! He's been alone all night, we need to go get him."
"Okay, lets go now then." Tony stayed. "I wanna go" Nat said. "Me too!" Steve added on.
"Sure." Peter said. Tony directed his attention towards Bruce. "Do you mind staying here until we get back or Maddie wakes up? That way she has someone she has met here." "Of course" Bruce answered. "Okay lets go. Peter, Nat, Steve in the car"
