I'm sorry for taking so long to update. I'm pretty sure this is longest chapter I've written. I hope you enjoy!

-Time Skip to the State Championship-

For a few days after the funeral, Peter and Maddie had a hard time dealing with May's death but now they were starting to move on. The game was a great distraction. After seeing Maddie hit all the avengers wondered how she compared to the rest of the team.

Maddie gets out of the car along with all the Avengers, Peter, Happy and Pepper.
"I have to go warm up with my team" Maddie says as Happy hands her her equipment from the trunk. "Thanks"

"Good luck" Peter says as he sees Josh come up behind her. He has a dopey grin on his face and puts a finger up to his mouth to tell everyone not to say anything. He goes to scare her but stops when she talks.

"Hi Josh" She says with a smirk.

"How'd you know I was here?" He responds, throwing his hands up.

"Peter looked behind me and smiled."

"You got me from him smiling?"

"Your the only one who would try to scare me, so yeah."

"Nervous?" Josh changes the subject.

"Never, You?"

"Excited"

The Avengers wish Maddie and Josh good luck. Maddie and Josh make their way onto the field and the Avengers make their way to the stands. They see Maddie and Josh getting giddy and more excited as they walk to the dugout.

They found seats in the bleachers; they all had on sunglasses, or a hat so they wouldn't be recognized. There was still half an hour before the game started. The players began to warm-up on the field. As they talked to one another, they watched the teams warm-up. Maddie and Josh's team, the Eagles pair up to have a catch. Of course, Maddie and Josh pair up with each other. Anyone who looked at them could tell how excited they were and how much fun they were having.

"Their always so excited." Peter says to Tony and Pepper.

"It is the State Championship." Pepper says.

"Yeah, but its more than that. It could just be a non-league game. (For those of you who don't follow sports, or sports are different where you live a non-league game is just a game that your score doesn't count for anything. Its basically just a scrimmage except there is an umpire) They would still be so excited. Because its fun for them. They fool around with each other when their practicing. They don't get super nervous, sometimes during the games they'll get stressed out, but its just fun for them. That's what makes them so different from all the other players. Most players like sport, maybe even love it but they always will have a couple days where they don't want to be there or their loosing and that puts them in a bad mood. Maddie and Josh just don't get like that. I'll never understand it. Their like little kids when it comes to baseball, something bad happens and they get upset, but their over it in five minutes."

"Its because they don't let baseball control their life, they choose to practice so much and be good at it because they enjoy it, while most people practice to win. I mean I'm sure that's part of it, but you can tell they enjoy what their doing." Tony says.

"Is it hard for her being the only girl?" Pepper asks.

"Umm, well she's pretty good at ignoring people so most of the time it doesn't really bother her if someone says something to her about it. But a lot of the players on the team, they've been playing together since Little League so they don't care that she is a girl. And the ones that do don't once they see how good she is. Besides one senior, but that's because she took his spot as starting pitcher. Its just hard for her when the other teams don't take her seriously because she is a girl."
