Two months have passed by and Ashton is still with Erika. I may have been half drunk and almost asleep but I still remember what he said. I don't think he knows that though. I also think I'm starting to like him. Too bad he's with a bitch.
Speaking of her, I hate her with everything in my body. Since the wedding she hasn't acted out publicly. If we are in a room together she will give me glares and whisper bullshit to me but only when Ashton isn't looking. And normally it's when I'm leaving the room she speaks. I'm pretty sure Ashton doesn't even know what she's been doing.
I decided to go to the kitchen to get some food since I haven't eaten breakfast yet and I found Ashton.
"Hey May."
"Hello." I said. I think I know what's coming.
"So Erika is coming over again today since I haven't seen her in a week with business and everything. You should come and join us."
I knew it.
"No thanks."
"You've never hung out with us before. Why don't you give it a try?"
"As I said before, no thanks."
"I know you don't like Erika but I promise the whole wedding thing was just a one time thing. She's really nice when you get to know her."
"No thanks Ashton." I turn around to try to leave before Erika shows up but then the doorbell rings.
"Damn it." I mumble.
Ashton rushes to the door all happy and it makes me smile for a second... until I see the bitch. When Ashton turned around she gave me a disgusted look before glaring at me. Ashton asked her if she needed a drink and she said yes. As soon as he left she started to walk over towards me.
"Hey slut."
"Hello bitch."
"You know you'll never be worth it. He will never love you."
"Ok." I tried not to let it show how much it stung.
"I know you like him but jut remember you're too ugly for him." Said Erika before entering the kitchen.
I have no problem with my self esteem but the part which he will never love me always hurts. I know I'm worth it and someone will recognize that and I know I'm pretty. Some days I wish others would see that. Or see a bitch when one walks in the room.
I decided to go outside across the lake and sit under the cherry blossom trees. Luckily I can go without a bodyguard since it's still on Ashton and I's property wishing the gates. It also helps that we live in the middle of nowhere.
I carried my songbook across the little bridge and took a seat. I was outside for almost two hours and was so engrossed with my new song that I didn't hear footsteps coming towards me or a car leaving the estate. So I started to sing.
I told myself I wouldn't do it
I told myself to be careful
I told myself to be strong
I told my heart to hold onOf course I didn't listen
It just happened on its own
I didn't mean for it to happen
Now I might end up all aloneShe said I wasn't worth it
She said I'll never be enough
She said he'll never love me
But it's ok becauseI'm not gonna give up
I'm not gonna back down
I have too much to say
So I'm gonna say it all right nowI think I'm falling for you
For you
For youI think I'm falling for you
For you
For youI think I'm falling for you
She said I wasn't worth the trouble
She said I should just give up
She said he doesn't need me
But that doesn't mean I'm gonna give up
BecauseI think I'm falling for you
For you
For youI think I'm falling for you
For you
For youI think I'm falling for you
For you
For youI think I'm falling for you
I finally finished and I heard a person clapping. I was afraid to look up hoping I wouldn't find him. I looked up and internally groaned. Ashton was the last person who was supposed to hear that. He's probably smart enough to connect the the dots too. I slowly started to stand up hoping and praying he wouldn't say anything.
"That was a pretty song, too bad there's not a nice voice to go with it." He joked. I punched him in the arm and he laughed. What a beautiful laugh.
"So, who's the song about?"
I almost choked at the question. "What?"
"Who's the song about? You know the person who's a hater."
"Oh nobody. Just using my imagination and pretending. One of the many ways I try to write songs."
"I believe you but I know that's not it for this case. Who is it?" He asked slowly stepping towards me. I took a step back while he took another one forward. This repeated until my back hit a tree and he caged me in with his hands.
"You wouldn't believe me anyways. It doesn't even really matter." Ashton went right to my ear and whispered "who is it May? Who is it?"
His hot breath was making my whole body tingle and I loved it. We haven't been this close to kissing each other since the kitchen incident not including the actual wedding.
"Erika." I whispered so quietly I don't know if he even heard me. I knew he heard me when I saw his hands form a fist.
"When were you going to tell me?"
"You guys are happy, why would I ruin that?" I said.
"You should be happy too." He whispered. I was going to reply when I heard a horn honk and it was Nick. Right now I don't like Nick as a friend since he hurt Mia. Mia means the world to me and is an incredible person. If he was going to play her he should have said it before. I honestly didn't even expect them to do what they did but life has other plans I guess.
My body suddenly felt cold as I realized Ashton backing away from me. He gave me one last glance before going to his friend. I decided to stay where I was and just think. Before I went inside I came to a conclusion. I think I'm falling for him. If only he felt the same.
