[SEASON THREE SPOILERS] requested by -schnipper 'can you do one of will x reader where the reader becomes one of billy's victims but the party gets her in time so she doesn't melt.' thank you for the request! hope you enjoy this.

you were just going for a swim at the local pool, how were you supposed to know that everything would go to shit? it had started when you first saw billy. you'd been the first female member of the party, before eleven, and you had recognized billy as max's stepbrother who had fought steve the year prior. trying your best to avoid him, you changed into your bathing suit. when you stepped out into the sunlight, you noticed billy's eyes on you. this prompted you to jump into the pool,swimming back up to the surface, seeing billy looking the other direction.

after a few hours of swimming, you were tired and planning to go home. on your way back to the locker rooms, you felt an hand harshly grasping your arm, nails digging into your skin. before you had much of a chance to protest, you were being dragged into a car. you were tossed into the trunk,screaming at your captor to let you go. almost daring to look up, you saw billy look down at you coldly. you continued to yell for help despite the gag he put on you, trying to no avail to kick at the trunk so your foot would hang out and you could get help.

once you had seemingly reached your destination, billy opened the trunk, grabbing you and walking into a giant barn that was unfamiliar to you. fearing the worst, you tried kicking at billy to get him off of you, crying as you awaited your fate."hold still, it will all be over soon." billy spoke in your ear, taking the gag out of your mouth as you trembled in fear, looking up at the mind flayer.

"it's just not like her." will was saying, pacing back and forth in mike's basement. "she wouldn't have just up and left like that." y/n had been missing for two days, and will was unable to sleep thinking about every single possibility. "i tried calling her house, i tried contacting her walkie talkie. i called her room, too, but her mom asked me to stop calling and insisted that y/n was fine. but, think about it, guys, if she was okay, wouldn't she at least tell us where she was and pick up?"

lucas and mike silently looking up at will, giving each other a small glance. "i don't think it's anything to worry about. maybe she's just hanging out with max and el." mike suggested, lucas nodding in agreement. "after all, the girls all seem to be conspiring against us lately."

will shook his head, sitting down next to lucas. "no, i don't think so. she loves playing d&d, and she promised that she would join us in a campaign today."

"she promised to join a campaign because she's in looooove." lucas teased, poking will in the side.

this news made will stand up in surprise. "i thought dustin said he was dating some girl named suzie?"

"sometimes, your complete obliviousness blows my mind." lucas spoke, immitating dustin. "she's not in love with dustin, dude."

will looked at his friends in confusion, crossing his arms over his chest. "she always acts so googly-eyed around you." mike explained. "it's like the way i feel about el-" he cuts himself off, looking back up at his friend. "just talk to her. it's obvious that you like her, too."

getting flayed didn't hurt as much as you would think, but the bite on your forearm was really killing you. it was a glowing shade of red, bleeding more and more. small black lines had started emerging from the edges, not calming your nerves or stopping the pain. you had seen billy do some bad things, things that you never wanted to do. esepcially not to your friends.

but it wasn't your choice anymore, the mind flayer was almost in complete control. the bite was growing. and there was nothing you could do about it. billy's army was growing. there was nothing you could do to stop it. you just hoped your friends would be prepared when the mind flayer was ready to attack.

you had also seen people exploding, melting, and becoming the mind flayer. that scared you more than anything else, helping that thing get strong enough to hurt your friends. strong enough to hurt even eleven.

but there was nothing you could do about it.

eleven knocked the door down with her mind, stepping inside unafraid. y/n looked up, almost wanting to run and hug her friend, but aware that she could hurt her. eleven made her way over to y/n, seeing the bite on her arm. eleven lifted her leg, showing that she had a similar one. "el, you have to get that out of you. if it spreads, they'll force you to join their army. with your power, the mind flayer will be unstoppable. you have to leave, and get everyone that came with you out, too."

"y/n." will breathed out, looking down at her. y/n's heart flipped and she tried not to smile. "i can't leave you here." y/n frowned, shaking her head, hoping against hope that the boy will leave. save himself, and get out of there. he didn't need any more pain from the mind flayer. "we're getting this thing out of eleven, and we're getting it out of you, too."

will was holding your hand, squeezing it in hopes to comfort you. eleven's hand hovered over your shoulder, pulling the infection out of you. a hand-like glob shot out of your arm, making you scream in pain. will's arms immediately wrapped around you, his nose pressed to your temple. "i was so worried. we didn't know where you were." will breathed out. "i love you." he suddeny blurted.

you smiled, a blush tinting your cheeks before you responded. "i love you, too, will."
