Luke ran into his room and locked the door. He threw things off his desk and sat on his floor then stared at the wall. He heard a soft knock at the door and a voice that said,

"Luke? It's Me. I.....I want to show you something." No matter how angry Luke was at the world, he could never find enough anger to ignore Jai. He stood up and opened his door, only to be met by a bone crushing hug. Jai took Luke's hand and led him out the front door and all the way down to a dock they've never been to before. It had a perfect view of the beach and when they finally made it, Jai looked at Luke and said,

"Do you like it?" Luke was in awe of the view and could only manage to say,

"It's a beautiful view. How have I not seen this before?"

Jai smirked and said,

"If you walk far enough on the beach, you can find a lot of things." Luke just nodded.

"What's wrong?" Jai added in wonder.

Luke stared out into the ocean until he was able to gather his thoughts to respond.

"I keep messing everything up! Didn't you see what happened? My short temper got the best of me and I yelled at mum! No one is gonna ever want to stay with me if I keep this up!" Luke said and he was upset and angry all at the same time!

"I would." Jai said and Luke felt something inside him that he couldn't describe. Luke turned to face Jai and he said,

"I just don't want to be alone or one day be by myself all on my own."

"You wouldn't. I'd never leave you. Not now, not ever." Jai told him with a soft smile that Luke would die for.

Luke smiled because he knew that he truly never would have to be.

The two returned from the hospital and Jai took Luke's things up to his room. as he did, he heard yelling from Luke downstairs. He dropped everything, ran downstairs and saw Beau and Luke yelling at each other.

"What's going on here?!" Jai interrupted their argument.

"I asked Luke a question and he's freaking playing pretend saying he doesn't know who I am! It's annoying as-"

"Beau, I didn't get a chance to call you yet but, do remember that accident that was on the news earlier? yeah well, Luke was in it and he lost a good portion of his memory." Jai tried to say As gentle as possible but, was there even a way to say it that way?

Beau stood in shock and just engulfed Luke in a hug. Luke pushed Beau away and yelled,

"What?! Look, I don't know who the heck you are but, you can't just yell at me then hug me?! Who do you think you are!"

Beau looked hurt but said,

"I'm your older brother. I know it kind of a lot to take in but-"

"What the-?! Why happened to me? Why don't I remember you? I would remember my own brother thank you very much!" Luke frustratedly said.

"But you don't!" Beau yelled. It was silent until Beau added,

"What's my name?"

And that's all it took for Luke to angrily run off into a room and slam the door shut. He punched the wall a few times until he heard someone from the other side of the door.

"Who is it?" Luke asked.

"Not that I'd remember who you are anyway." He mumbled to himself.

"It's me. Can I show you something? It might bring some memories back." Luke recognized that voice and for some reason, he wasn't angry enough to say no to the voice.

He opened the door and saw Jai standing there. Jai offered his hand to Luke and Luke hesitantly took it. Jai led him down to the dock Luke and himself used to visit all the time before the accident and Jai said,

"Do you like the view?"

Luke could only stare out into the ocean but he managed to say,

"It's a beautiful view, I haven't been here before have I?"

"Y-yes you have. You probably don't remember but, we used to come here all the time." Jai said trying to hide sadness behind his voice.

"Oh....I'm sorry but, I don't remember."

Luke said disappointed.

"It's alright....I'm not mad at you."

After some time of silence, Luke had the courage to ask,

"Would you ever leave me for that?"

"For what?"

"For not remembering. Would you just let me be on my own one day? Would you ever leave me alone?"

Jai looked at Luke dead in the eyes and he could've swore it was Luke's memories talking. Either way, he would say this to Luke no matter what. He said,

"I'd never leave you. Not now, not ever." Jai smiled softly and Luke had a feeling that'd he'd never have to be. He noticed Jai's smile and said,

"You have a smile to die for you know that?"

Jai blushed and shook his head.

"If you'd ask me, I'm pretty sure your smile is what kept me going all those years ago. If you'd let me, I would love to keep you smiling so I can spend forever with you again."

Jai could only smile.
