"Home sweet home!" Sophie exclaimed as she fell onto the couch in her apartment, "as much as I love hotels, I love this apartment more," her words were muffled from the cushions.
"Soph, this came for you last night," Sebastian put the car keys on the kitchen counter next to a black box.
"Who's it from?" She got yo off the couch and went to open the box.
Sebastian shrugged, "no clue. There might be a card inside but I didn't want to open it to check."
Inside there were a bunch of roses, her favourite flower. She smiled at the sight of them. A note was sat on top, "the fifth of October, twenty eighteen," she read, "what the hell does that mean."
"I'm so confused."
"Same."

"Well for one, they're so romantic, just when you say roses it sounds romantic. Well, to me anyway," Sophie was telling Tom why she loved roses so much, he adored how excited she was getting about it, "and it sounds so cliche when I say my favourite flowers are roses but it's more than they're pretty. When I was five, my mom, bash and I were walking to the store at the corner of our street. We walked past a flower shop and they had bunches of flowers outside since it was a hot day. One of the roses from the bunches fell onto the ground so I picked it up and tried to give it back to the man but he told me I could keep it. I was so happy that I got to keep that one rose, and I don't know why, but that was the reason why I love roses so much," Tom smiled down at her, "sorry for rambling on about it-"
"Don't apologise," he warped one arm around her shoulders and went over to the counter, "hi, could I get a bunch of roses please."
"Of course," the woman smiled and went over to get some roses.
"Tom, you don't have to."
"I want to."
