Both Ez and Ezrik made their way through the gardens that surrounded the mansion, slipping past any security systems like clockwork. They knew that opening the front door wasn't going to do them any good, and breaking any of the windows would not only be suspicious on its own, but it would surely set off an alarm. Ez kept looking around to try and find a way in as Ezrik began to grow impatient, finally opening a portal that would let them walk right through the front door.
"Well then!" Ez smiled, looking at Ezrik, "Smart thinking-"
"Hmph. One of us has to be the smart one."
"I can be smart!"
"Sure."The two walked into the house, taking a look around. The place was decorated with a bunch of modern art, and was incredibly flashy. A fountain was right in the entrance, made from marble with gold outlining it. A statue of the politician stood in the middle, with his name on a plaque.
"Mr. Gabriel Alton..." Ez scratched his beard, "What a fuckin' nerd! I mean look at this place, the asshole is so full of himself. I wish I could just kill him now..."
"You know we can't dad. As pompous as he seems, you still gotta spy on him-"
"I know! I just... bleh, I never liked the type to have a statue of themselves in their own damn house!" He looked around the room, "Any ideas on where this cat is?"
"Your guess is as good as mine. With what little we know of this idiot, he probably has an entire room just for his cat-"
"Guess we should start looking. Ah damn, but what about the possible cameras?"
"Don't worry about that, I already planned ahead. I'm using my technomancy to show the camera's feed false information. They're seeing the same still screen constantly-"
"Ha! You're a fuckin' nerd as well! Technomancy, pfft-"
"Tch- Shut the Hel up! If it wasn't for that, you would've been caught already-"
"You've got a point but you're still a nerd! Now enough with the teasing, let's just start searching."
They started to look around the house, going from room to room... No matter where they searched, there wasn't any sign of where the cat could be. It could take them hours with how massive the place was, hours that they weren't sure if they had. Gabriel could get home at any moment, and they would've most likely been caught. The house was almost maze-like with how many rooms and hallways there were, it was amazing how anyone could properly live here without getting lost. With the fact that he lived alone as well, it was even more ridiculous. After going through what seemed like a hundred rooms, they finally were able to catch a clue. A water bowl sat near the kitchen, with a faint trial of water droplets that Ez's heightened senses were able to pick up on.
"Ezrik! Look!"
"What? Did you finally find the cat?"
"Nope! But, it left a little water trail. It looks like it's going up the stairs!"
"Shesh... I couldn't even pick that up on my radar-"
"A well trained eye can beat out any piece of metal my son!"
He quickly followed the trial, with Ezrik following behind as well. They both ran up the stairs and found a door that was slightly cracked open. Ez opened the door and was able to spot the cat laying on top of a little bed. Without paying much attention to anything else, he went over to the bed to inspect the cat.
