The pen stopped in mid-air. It turned it's nib to a cotton bud and washed itself in it. The nib looked sharper now. The point was awfully sharp. It flew straight past Iris, barely escaping her clothes by a millimetre. It went to a different pot of ink and flew in back in it's feathers. Matthew was breathing heavily against Iris, now afraid of what would happen. It's feathers were now swaying more gently in the wind which was so very quiet for autumn nights. It's golden pen structure was now glowing a sapphire blue in the drawings encrypted into it's body. The page had fresh dark blue ink on the page 'Ianuae Magicae et unde venisti. Tu audies vocem meam, et omnis sonus. Go back to quo amissa est inventus est.' Iris and Matthew started floating upwards. "Teleport to from where you came. You hear my voice and every sound. Go back to where lost is found." a disembodied voice rang into their ears. They were shot out by an invisible force and were surrounded in the same dark blue light they saw on the pen and ink. Matthew disappeared. Iris stopped floating and was able to touch some sort of ground. The dark blue colour that surrounded her started to be lit up by white lights. Iris felt a sudden urge to jump, so she did and started floating over the great blue. Her dress was transformed into a beautiful white with pearls surrounding the top and an overskirt. A mermaid-like comb came into her hair which was the same as it was earlier. Long silver earring clung onto her ears and her ballet flats turned into white heels (only small heels, not high heels)The skirt of the dress then layered up to 2 layers with a more silky fabric underneath. Her dress was long and her eyes shone with the physique of a fashion model in a magazine. Her make-up became on point and she floated down now, past the stars and onto the soft ground of the grass. The back entrance of the ballroom stood there so she quickly skittled around and into a side entrance of the school. There were stairs upwards into the DJ booth and the party seemed to be elegant as ever. She simply passed the DJ as a note popped out of thin air and floated down onto the table. Her hair was curled, her make-up ready. The queen of the ball was ready to dance. She nervously breathed, wondering where Matthew had gone. Turning a corner, she saw the slicked back hair of a scrawny man pure of heart. Iris looked at him and her held up a dewed red rose. Matthew's grin came up. He had seemed to have transformed as well. He liked arms with her and the music came quieter. The note had said to do so. Iris smiled nervously and started walking down the stairs. The spotlights turned to them and confused as she was, Iris shone the most beautiful of smiles there was. The judges looked up at them and an announcer spoke 'Please put your hands together for the late but extremely well-dressed, Matthew and Iris!' The audience all started wildly clapping as the pair came to the middle. 'Dancing the first couple dance....Matthew and Iris!' The audience died down and Matthew whispered: "May I have this dance?" Iris nodded faintly, knowing she must be good to get a place at the Snow Ball. Iris took his hand and the music started. It was elegant yet had the element of ice-skating to it. She twirled around in his hand and took his waist, dancing the waltz. He picked her up and swirled her around. Then, they prepared for the leap. Iris flew her hands up into the air and turned around. She walked backwards quickly and spun around at the last second....The air breezed past herself as she drifted in the air. Everything seemed as it was in slow-mo. Matthew started twirling her above his head, and his expression changed. More of shock. He put Iris down and the music stopped. Some students with black uniforms and crimson red lace stood at the entrance. Black swans were encrypted into the uniform. The middle one was the first to speak, "Well, well, well. We didn't know you were having so much fun," They started walking down the stairs and Iris backed off "I think it's time we joined this little get together you've been hanging whilst we hang around being 'The Evil Kids'. Well now, the tables have turned. It's our time to have fun." She lifted up her finger and shot an orange spark into the sky. There were voices from outside. Suddenly, the curtained walls set on fire and a huge gang of Nevers were circling the room. The flames rose higher and the sense of panic spread. There was a scream and a malevolent cackle. This was the day that could make the whole difference to Iris' life.
