FAR FROM HOME SPOILERS AND OMG I ALMOST MADE MYSELF CRY 2 TIMES WHILE WRITING THIS

It wasn't difficult to believe. There had been enough deaths in Peter's family for Peter to fully understand that his mentor was never coming back. The pain from that was more manageable. Everything was easier to deal with after you've dealt with death multiple times before.

Easier doesn't mean he was perfectly fine though.

Peter's "coping" mechanism was to make himself so busy that he didn't have time to think about yet another dead father figure. Whether it was studying, building, or being Spiderman, he was constantly finding ways to push down his feelings and deal with his regular life.

Despite many professionals saying that it wasn't a healthy way to deal with something as emotional as loosing someone you considered family, it was very effective for Peter. He was able to progress in his educational career, further develop technology, and still give him some time to understand how he was feeling.

There were times though, when he just needed a good crying session. He just wanted to cry out all his pain and sorrow. He didn't want to be comforted or looked at weird. All he wanted was to cry. But crying is a difficult thing to do.

The second you start crying, people crowd you, asking what's wrong and why he's upset. That want you to know your not alone, and automatically assume that you need a hug, when none of that is true. All you want is to cry.

There are few times when Peter can do that.

Whenever May has to stay at work late, or leave early, he has a pity session. Sometimes if patrol isn't to crazy, he can peel off his mask and cry. He needed one of these days about every 3 months, but was working on spreading them out more, trying to cope with his situation.

However, he didn't realize how devistating his trip to Europe would be.

Peter loved documentaries or Sci-fi movies. On his trip across the globe, he decided he was in a documentary mood and pulled up the most popular documentaries on the screen infront of him.

Every. Single. One had something to do with the "infinity war". The ominous gauntlet gave him chills, and he quickly diverted his eyes, trying to supress thoughts of the traumatizing experience.

The next film to catch his eye was none other than a documentary on his mentor. On the man who was the main cause for all of his hurt. Tony Stark.

For some reason he clicked on the movie, quickly skimming over the description of it. He nearly clicked it, but suddenly realized he was about to cry. Peter fought them back, wishing that Ned was next to him instead of his teacher.

After turning off the TV screen and resting his head against the head rest, he let out a tight breath, trying to not think about his loss too much.

It would've been fine if that was the last time that sort of thing happened, but Peter didn't realize that cities all across the globe has memorials to Iron Man. They didn't have as many as New York did, but that didn't mean that murals and sculptures weren't surrounding him.

Anytime he was in an airport or train station, he saw Tony Stark looking down at him, with different variations of "You Will Be Remembered" written in various languages. There were flyers for various charity events, to meetings and lectures, talking about their fallen heroes.

It overwhelmed Peter, and sometimes he felt like crying.

He got his pity session and was able to talk to Happy. When Happy found Peter, hurt and scared in a tulip field out in the middle of no where, he wasn't sure what to say. What hurt the Head of Security even more was how frightened Peter was, how he wasn't really sure what was real. He was scared of everything, until he knew that Happy was real.
