-Aubrey's POV-
"Yeah sure it's okay," Daniel says as he turns the channel on the TV.
"Wait, serious?" I asked shocked.
I totally thought they were gonna turn it down.
"Yeah but I got something to do tonight so I really don't care," Simon tells me nonchalantly and I just gape at the 3 boys in front of me.
"You guys don't care if Jake and Katie come over for a movie night?" I ask again, just making sure I got it right.
"Aubrey your a 17 year old girl," Daniel laughs at me. "We get it you have a life, and were not going to stop you from living it."
"And plus," Tyler adds in. "I need to learn my students more."
"But Jake and Katie don't have any of your classes?" I point out and he shrugs.
"Study halls count."
"Well believe it or not we love movie nights," Daniel added again and they all laughed. I let out a nervous chuckle and grabbed my phone out of my back pocket.
"Okay I'll tell them it's cool."
"But," Daniel adds suddenly and I freeze. Ah come on don't bail on me now... "Tell your friend Kate or whatever no chick flicks." I let out a sign of relief and nod, not bothering to correct him that it's Katie not Kate.
"Okay I'm just gonna call them," I take my phone and walk around the TV to Tyler's room to make the call in privacy. I decide to call Jake first and he picks up on the second ring.
"Bad news," he didn't even wait for me to say anything before he blurted that out.
"Well that's too bad cause I have good news," I told him and I hear a sigh come from the other side of the line.
"Let me finish that," I stayed quiet to let Jake start again. "Bad news, I'm grounded and I can't come to movie night."
"What?!?" I exclaimed into the phone. "How did you get grounded?"
"I left the garage open by accident and a couple stray animals got in last night," he says and I just laugh at him.
"Oh god Jake!" I laugh. "How long are you grounded?"
"For a week," he groans and I laugh harder at him. "Bree this is sooo not funny."
"Why didn't you just blame it on Parker?" I ask him and he groans again.
"He was at a friends house last night and I was the only one who could have done it so I was the only one to blame," he says and my laughing dies down a bit.
"Oh but Jakey we were gonna have a movie night," I complained and he sighs.
"Yeah I know but I can't, I'm lucky to still have my phone."
"Oh well me and Katie are just gonna have to suffer without you," I fake sigh and his line goes silent.
"I guess," he grumbles and I let out a short laugh.
"Okay I gotta call Katie so we'll see you tomorrow." I tell him and he sighs once again.
Wow he's in a really sighy mood today...
"Yeah okay Bree I'll see you tomorrow," he says and I let out a flop sided smile even though I know he can't see it.
"Bye Jakey."
"Bye Bree." And with that I hung up on my poor grounded Jake...
Next I have to call Katie. Now thank the gods Katie's parents don't know the definition of 'grounded' so she should be on board.
