Telling them.

By the time we arrive back at mine Gigi is asleep and I'm almost asleep in the front seat. Gianni has some quiet music playing in the car, he turns the car off and I mentally shake myself knowing it's now time to get up. He goes round the back and collects all my bags and I get Gigi and the wheels for her pram. When we get inside the house it's in complete silence, no one must be home. I unclip Gigi from her car seat and sit down on the sofa with her close to me. "I'll put the shopping away then get going. I want to get a shower before coming over later on." Smiles Gianni from the kitchen.
"No you don't have too. I can do it, just making sure she doesn't wake up." I smile looking down at a still sleeping Gigi.
"Yous look so peaceful. I don't mind honest I'll put them away but leave out the stuff for later on." He reassures taking out boxes of food and beginning to put them away.
After Gianni has finished putting things away he says bye and quietly leaves. I slide my shoes off and put my feet up on the sofa. Gigi is now just lying on my front. From this angle I can see Enzo in her, there noes are the same and her eyes just like Enzo's.  Sitting like this just makes me miss him, it's crazy. We haven't been together for a while but my nerves about telling my friends keep building up. Even though I know I can count on and trust Gianni it's just a little different without Enzo.

I wake up to a knock at the door and check my phone. It's 3:45 and I'm still in my comfy clothes from earlier with Giulietta sleeping at my side. I leave her sleeping in her basket and go for the door. I shake my hands trying to get rid of the nerves expecting my friends or Gianni but when I open the door I see Kate. "Hey sorry I must have left my keys upstairs." She Laughs and walks in. I sigh in relief and walk passed the living room. Kate is sitting with Gigi so I go upstairs to get changed. Instead of wearing a jumper and leggings I put on a nice off the shoulder floaty top and some blue jeans. I know they won't care how I'm dressed but it will make me feel better. I brush through my hair and braid back some of the front so it's out the way. I don't put any shoes on as I'm in the house but go back downstairs to feed and change Gigi before people begin to arrive.
  About 15 minutes later just after I have put Gigi down on her texture mat the door goes again. I jump up and open it to see Gianni. "Hey, thanks again for coming." I smile letting him in. We both go over to the sofa and he's looking at Gigi. "Can I?" He asks motioning towards her.
I nod and smile as I watch him pick her up. Her little eyes shoot open and stare right up at him and then they close again. She is the most chill baby I think I've ever met. "She's beautiful." He says cradling her.
"Yeah she really is amazing." I reply just looking at her. I begin to fidget with my thumbs then I hear my phone vibrate. I have 2 messages. Ella- "Hey were about 5 minutes away see you soon."     The second text from Enzo.- "I have full faith in you if you decide to tell your friends tonight. FaceTime me later on and let me know how it goes."
I sit back and put my phone down not replying to either of them. There both making me really anxious. Then I look over to Gianni. "Your really great with her but I think I should be holding her when the others get here."
"Sure of course." He smiles passing me my almost sleeping baby. She is really settled which is a good thing, makes this whole telling my friends thing easier. Just as I get up to walk to the kitchen I hear a loud knock at the door. Oh god. Slowly turning on my heels and head back towards the door holding Gigi a little closer to me. I pull down the handle and open it up. "Hey guys come in. Welcome." I smile. Moving back and opening the door back. They go into the living room and exchange hellos with Gianni and then look at me. They look as though they're staring right through me but in fact I know it's not me that they're staring at. I look over at Gianni who is also looking but at me. He has a small light grey elephant in his hands and he's smiling and giving me a nod. "Who's this?" Asks Annie standing up and coming over to me. She stands just in front of me. "This is Giulietta... she's my daughter." Annie looks up clearly in shock. "How?"
"Come on don't be stupid Ann" says Gianni from behind me.
"1, my names not Ann it's Annie and 2 I know how I just mean how come we don't know." Explains Annie.
I look over at the other two who look like they are in complete shock.
Everyone's silent for about a minute but then Ella starts to talk. "How could you not have told us?" I can hear a small amount of anger in her voice. I look over to Gianni as he probably knows I'm about to freak out because I don't know what to say.
"Well I guess it's not that she hasn't told you because she has. It's because it's a hard thing to tell people." Explains Gianni. I sit across from them in a chair and wait for someone to say something. "What's Gianni doing here?" Asks Luca. It's clearly been on his mind because when he says it he doesn't really have a great tone.
"Well I told Gianni the first day we met. I didn't mean to and it just slipped that's all. I wasn't meaning to keep it from you guys I was just scared to tell you." I blurt our trying to get them to understand where I am coming from.
"Yeah hard situation but you can tell Gianni... I'll see you at school." Huffs Ella and she gets up to leave. Luca follows but Annie stays by my side.
"They just need to get used to it that's all. They'll be alright in a couple of days. Hey it was a hard thing to do and you've done it now... She is gorgeous." Reassures Annie. She walks over and sits down beside Gianni. "Okay I'm going to go home and let yous have time. Call me if you need me. Enjoy the cheese boards that we haven't eaten." Smiles Gianni walking out.
As soon as the door closes Annie looks at me. "Is her dad involved."
"Yeah. We're not together though but he's coming this weekend to see her and for a visit. It's hard as I've moved away now... I didn't mean to hurt Ella and Luca." I explain moving Gigi. "Would you like to hold her?" I ask.
Annie's face lights up and she takes Gigi. "I know as I said they will just need some time." She sits back and without lifting her eyes of Gigi she says "So what about you and Gianni hmm?"
