Loving you

Colder Weather

Being alone in my house with Gigi was nothing new. My mom worked crazy shifts and my sister Kate had the best social life for just not long moving to a new place. I sit on the sofa in the lounge that faces the back yard. It's beautiful outside, not too hot and the perfect weather for me and Gigi to spend outside when she wakes up from her nap. I pull out my phone and go to my contacts. Gianni has called me a couple of times but I choose not to reply when Enzo's name and a picture of him and Gigi pop up on my screen. "Hello." He answers sounding happy.

"Hi how are you? I feel like we haven't spoken in a while." I explain. The truth is me and Enzo were better off as friends and we thought us being together would work. It resulted in Gigi and us no longer being together. However I don't regret anything we've been the best duo ever since.

"I'm well just been eating all day with my mom." I laugh at him. His mum sure is a feeder. "I can come visit this weekend if you guys are free. We've got Friday off school so I can come Friday evening?" He asks. I hate that this is the situation we are in. He shouldn't have to schedule in visits for his daughter.

"Yeah that would be so nice. Spend all weekend with us. I'm looking forward to it." I spend about an hour talking to Enzo on the phone and refuse to mention what happened with Gianni. I know he wouldn't be too bothered but I don't want to rub anything in his face plus I don't even know what exactly happened with Gianni.

                           At school
This is the most Monday feeling Thursday in the world. The sky's are dull and there is a freezing cold wind that comes from no where. I don't normally we're jackets to school but today called for it. I'm waiting outside for Annie and Ella when I see them run round the corner. "Sorry we got drinks." They say smiling and passing me a cup.

"Tea since you can't drink coffee. Your welcome." Laughs Ella before linking arms with me and pulling me into school. The buildings a little warmer but not a lot I wonder if they've turned any radiator on it's freezing. Me, Ella and Annie don't have any classes until ten but had to register at normal time so we spend some time in the cafeteria. We talk about our classes for the rest of the day and they press for answers about why I left the other day but I don't say anything.

"Okay we're all going to Lucas tomorrow for a movie and some take out. Your coming right?" Smiles Annie. She's got a way of just taking yeah for an answer regardless of what you say.

"Yeah sure. I'll need to be at mine for about 7:30, 8 as my mom is working and Enzo is coming for the weekend... will Gianni be there?" I ask. When I ask this I know that what happened has effected me much more than I'd like to admit.

They both shake their heads. "He's out of town... so your coming great. We love movie night there it's the best." Exclaims Annie pulling me in for a hug.

We all laugh and finish our drinks. This cold weather I always loved. I like the summer but wearing lots of layers and boots with great winter outfits were my favourite.

"Okay so we'll see you at Lucas soon. We'll wait till you get there to start the movie. Are you bringing Gigi? " says Annie from inside Ellas car.

I shake my head. "No she's staying with my mom but I'll be there soon." I say walking away and getting into my car. It's still cold outside so the warmth from my car is nice. I pull out parking lot and start the drive home.

When I get in my moms in the kitchen with Kate and Gigi is asleep on the sofa. She's lying with a long blanket covering her. She's so precious. The way her lashes rest on her cheeks and her bottom lip moves when she breathes. All mine! I walk through to the kitchen to speak to my mom. "I thought you were going straight to your friends?" She says pulling me into a light hug.

"No I came home to get a jumper and see Gigi. Thanks for watching her. I'll pump then be heading out." I say kissing my mums cheek and heading upstairs. When I go in my room it's cold. I tilted the window before i left but regret it now. I close it and grab the first jumper I see. Pumping with a lot of layers on is awkward but it has to be done.

When I'm done I head downstairs. Ive got so many layers on that I look bigger than I am but I like being cozy. I've got my shirt a small cardigan and then a jumper with my scarf and long teddy bear jacket. I kiss my moms cheek again before kissing a still sleeping Gigi's cheek and heading out the door. It's getting dark already but it's not a long trip to Lucas so it's alright.

When I pull up to the house I look around. There's a lot of cars none of them being Gianni's. I thought I'd be happy but I guess I'm kind of disappointed. I open the big door and feel the warmth coming from the kitchen. I hand my jacket up abs slide off my shoes leaving them at the door. I've became quite relaxed at Lucas house, being here with him then with Gianni I spend a lot of time here. When I walk through there's a clap and even a cheer. "Look who decided to show." Laughs Ella. Everyone's in comfy lounge wear so I don't feel out of place being in jeans and a jumper.

"Wow yeah make fun of me it's alright." I reply. I have a good friendship with these people. Sarcasm flows so easily and I love it. We chat a while then grab the snacks and head toward the lounge. The fire is crackling on in the background and the tv is on. I think Annie and Luca have picked the movie. I'm pretty easy for whatever so i don't mind. We all sit down I'm next to Luca, Annie and Ella to the side of us on another sofa. We all have our own blankets and we turn the movie on. After about ten minutes I hear my phone. I must have left it in the kitchen.
"I'll be back in a minute. Don't bother pausing it." I laugh before leaving my space on the sofa.

As I step into the kitchen I see my phone sitting on the island when I notice him. Gianni. He's standing without a shirt on and clearly just out the shower. His hair is dripping and he's sipping a coffee "You weren't meant to be here." I say sort of stunned watching my phone flash again.

"It's my house remember... you're also wearing my clothes." He smirks obviously glad I've got it on.

Shit. I look down and so I am wearing his jumper I should have known when I put it on. I look up and he's still  staring at me. "Listen Jas." He comes close. Closer than we've ever been but I can't.

"Gianni I just came for my phone. I'll get your jumper cleaned up and give it to Luca. I have to get back." I say motioning towards the lounge. I touch his bare shoulder and feel his warm skin. He doesn't stop me when I walk away. I don't know if part of me wishes he did or if  I'm glad he just let me go.
