I'm drowning

I started in the shallow end

But the current pulled me in

The further I went

The deeper it got

I thought if I went to far

I'd be able to just swim back

But I was pulled to far out

And my arms got tired

I thought maybe someone

Would eventually find me

But now I realize

I'm all alone

I always was from the start

I scream and flail though

Like it'll make a difference

But now there's a storm

The current speeds and the water's churning

My head goes under

And I come up coughing

I'm so tired now

My eyes close against command

I quit fighting and just give in

I'm lost forever to the sea
