Life is Just a Blood Stain

Everyday we hope and pray

For a little bit of light

And the dark to go away

We beg for a little happiness

But continue to wallow like children

In an endless sadness

We claim to want peace and love to rein

But what we love is the dark

Like vampire we feed on the chaos

We plant in each other's hearts

What do we have left

In a world that's ultimately dying

 Nothing except grief and loathing

We are consumed by greed and lust

Why don't we understand it won't matter

Once we're all gone and turn to dust

There's no longer such thing

As child like innocence

Innocence is dead, and we planted that seed

The one that sprouted  hatred

And an unquenchable thirst like need

A need for numbness

A need to forget

Forget the unbearable pain

That's like blood seeped into a carpet and stained

That's what life is

Just a tiny blood stain

That no one cares about

In the carpet of time

We're all doomed

And ready to die.
