A World in Darkness

We live in a world of ice

Everyday hundreds die

Someone silently screams and cries

Another teenager takes their own life

The "happy kids" are on pills

The "sad kids'" emotions overflow and spill

So many smiles are painfully forced

People hurt behind closed doors

Fear controls many hearts

So many minds have grown to dark

Our demons are the only ones who stay

Cruel dark games they like to play

Addictions spread like wildfires

Thoughts are poisons, much to vile 

The world is shrouded in clouds of hate

And love has just become a game 

Our friendships tend to be toxic and fake

And our souls we wrongly forsake

Blood drains from open veins

Terrorists bombing public planes

Kids bringing guns to schools

People being used as tools 

Adolescents hooked on drugs

To hide the pain, get black out drunk

So much evil all around 

Is there any hope to be found

Eventually we are all replaced

We have no hearts, just empty space

Soon we'll all be alone 

And it's all our faults

And whats done is done
