I sat on my bed and stared at the dress across the room, hands trembling slightly as my mind dwelled on what was yet to come. I twirled the ring on my left fourth finger and in an attempt to ease my nerves. The band was golden with the formation of two swirling waves. In the middle was a blue diamond in the center. On one of the waves, there were three smaller diamonds and four clear stones. Silver encased these gems, which added to the beauty. On the other side were three more of the rare and exotic colored stones.
A knock on the door broke me out of my trance, and as a voice called out, I gathered my thoughts.
"Perce, can I come in?"
"Since when do you ask, Jaz?" I questioned as I opened the door and invited her in.
"You're right, I should've barged in, but your dad told me not to bother you too much today," she walked on the room.
"You don't bother me!" I exclaimed as we sat on the bed.
"The fight last week at practice?"
"That was my fault. Besides, I've been a little on edge."
"I've heard sex is an incredible stress reliever."
"Jazmin! No!" I looked at her, appalled.
"Oh don't act so surprised I said that! Anyway, it's not like you won't be getting any tonight." I shrugged as I darted my eyes around the room.
"Wait," her eyes widened, "you're scared of this, aren't you!"
"What? No, of course not," I lied.
"Come on, spill the tea sis."
I snorted. "Didn't take you for one to say that."
"What can I say, Ashley mentions it a lot. Now, are you gonna tell me what's up?"
"The ceiling?" Jazmin facepalmed.
"You know what I mean."
"My mom got married and thirty seconds in he turned into an abusive ass, what's to say nothing's going to happen to me? I mean, I'm not the best person, I pissed off Gabe so much he tore me apart. What's stopping Apollo?" I mentally cursed myself when my voice broke and vigorously held back the tears that threaten to pool around my eyes.
"That's it?"
"What?"
"No offense Persi, but that is incredibly stupid. He loves you, believe me, I know, I interrogated him when you started dating, and when he asked for my blessing to marry you, and then again an hour ago. Trust me, nothing will happen, okay?" I nodded as she wrapped me in her arms. "Besides, if he does, everyone will want to not only want to kill him but obliterate him," We chuckled and sat there for a while before the sound of a message on my phone rang through the room.
"It's Annabeth. She'll be here soon."
"O-"
"Lunch!" My dad's voice called out.
"-kay."
We shared a look then got up and went downstairs. We were already at the beach house, and it is quite cozy. And big. Very, very, very big. I'm going to skip the details for now because of the delicious food waiting for me.
<Line Break>
Dusk approached quicker than I thought it would and soon it was time to get ready, Jazmin, Ashley, Annabeth, and Piper were already in their yellow dresses, with their hair already done. We all sat in the room and waited for Hera to arrive.
"Let's go to the bathroom, shall we?" Hera ordered.
I followed, then the creepy and uncomfortable bath ritual began. I'll spare you the gory details but, for purposes, mention that within an hour I had to get my hair done and put the veil on. When we finished, we traveled downstairs and waited for the groom.
