Marisol wailed as I gave her to Luke, it broke my heart to hear it, but this is something I have to do for all three of us. I've already told the council what I'm doing and got their permission to leave her here until I return. The Team asked if I needed any help, but I shook my head.
"This is something I have to do alone," I told them. "Besides, I'm more than capable of making this an in and out mission."
I chuckled as I watched Luke hand the crying baby off to Selina, who calmed her down. During my pregnancy, we concluded that she'd grow 1 of 2 ways; like your typical god, wherein one day, she'd be practically 5, or like my pregnancy, where one week was a month's equivalent, looking at her now, I could see it was the latter. I told the Team bye before caressing her cheek and kissing her head.
"I love you," I told my daughter as I walked off to my mission to save her father, my husband. With a portal, I walked into the pit, known as Greek hell.
The air smelled horrid, and the stench of blood scented the air. Screams and sounds of metal clanking on metal filled the air, making me frown. I heard a cry that sounded a lot like... Andy? I peered around the corner and saw him being tortured by Tartarus. I walked in.
"Is he immortal?" I asked. They both jumped, and Andy almost started pleading, but I flicked my hand so he couldn't talk.
"Yeah," Tartarus answered.
"Can you give me a sharpie and some throwing knives?" I was handed the things I asked for in a split second. Andy's eyes widened in fear, which gave me some satisfaction.
I flipped him over and drew a target on his back. "This is what it felt like," I spoke as I threw a knife on the left side of the outer circle of the mark, "when you cheated on me." Another hit right across the first one, on the right side of his back. I threw two more on the second circle, "And when you raped me." I walked up to him and stabbed the last one in the bull's-eye. "You made me want to want to die, and I have to thank you because now I am happily married, and I have a beautiful daughter. Thanks to my finding you on the beach, I have a life far better than what it would have been with you." I pushed the knives in harder. "That doesn't mean you shouldn't get punished."
I walked out and spoke over my shoulder, "Thanks, Tartarus, I needed that."
"Any time Perce," He called out after me.
A foolish and spiteful dracaena tried attacking me, but with a wave of my hand, she was now my tour guide leading me straight to the section for the gods. More monsters saw me and tried to kill me, but with a snap, they exploded.
It took several Tartarus hours to get to the section where gods reformed, but we got there nevertheless. I opened Riptide and sliced it through the monster before rushing up to the bubble that I felt resonate with Apollo's signature. I capped Riptide and pocketed her before hesitantly putting my hands on the sac. Using my healing powers, and converting all my energy to them, I spread it through the bubble, and soon it popped. I fell to the floor as Apollo stood up. He looked confused for a second, but when his gaze landed on me, panting and exhausted, he rushed to me.
"Persi? Are you okay? What happened? The baby! What-"
"One, I'm fine, just tired, two, you died, and three, and she's doing astonishing." When I gathered enough energy to stand, I pulled Apollo into a passionate kiss. We wrapped our arms around each other, letting it last as long as they could. When we came up for air, we rested our foreheads together.
With a pleased smile, Apollo asked, "What was that for?"
"You died, idjit."
"You had to make a reference now?" He asked.
I smirked, "Always." Our moment was ruined by my voidPhone ring tone.
"What is it, Luke?"
"Your child won't stop crying! I don't know what to do!" Did he sound scared? I laughed.
"Stop laughing! What do I do?"
"Who is it?" Apollo asked.
"Where's Selina, Luke? Or any of the others." I asked, answering Apollo's question.
"Chaos sent them on a mission, left me here with Marisol." With a sigh, I replied.
"She's probably hungry. Just summon a bottle and give it to her?"
"Do I have to hold it?"
I sighed and facepalmed. "Yes, Luke. I'll be back shortly anyway." I hung up and looked to Apollo.
"Oh, are we leaving now?" He asked with a lot of sass.
"No, we're staying for a while, thought we could let the monsters kill us." We chuckled and traveled toward Tartarus' feet.
