As Greta and Maddox wheeled his body out of the apartment, with instructions to finalise things with Isobel, Katerina told him everything he needed to know about Elena Gilbert and the Salvatore brothers.

"I have a wolf and a vampire - I made them for you." Katherine rushed out.

Klaus had reclined himself back on the leather sofa, with a glass of blood, as he watched Katerina Petrova plead her 'loyalty' to him. It was entertaining, and Klaus had to hand it to the elusive vampire that she had set everything up almost perfectly for his ritual - a vampire, a werewolf, the moonstone, the doppelgänger... even a witch was available! But even so, Klaus did not grant clemency. That was Elijah's forte.

"Tyler Lockwood and Caroline Forbes?" They were friends of Elena's, so, of course, Klaus would need backup sacrifices. He had been waiting for this ritual to happen for over one thousand years, so he wasn't about to put all of his eggs in one basket. Anyone could be made into a vampire at any time, so that wasn't an issue. The issue would be the werewolf, if Tyler Lockwood was going to be annoyingly rescued by the scooby-gang, Klaus would need a replacement. Luckily, baby Lockwood had a small pack that he was running with, and they were just outside of Mystic Falls.

Klaus made love to Greta that night, before he reluctantly dragged himself out of bed the next morning. Of course, Alaric had work. So, the Original had Katerina helping him find something half-decent in Safari Sam's ridiculous wardrobe, while he grilled her with a scooby-gang pop quiz.

Begrudgingly, he made his way to the school where he would (hopefully) set his sights on Elena Gilbert. As he stepped into the school, he saw various posters for a decade dance, and he just had to roll his eyes at the absurdity. The 60s were most definitely not his favourite era.

"Hello, class," He began, after finally finding his way to the classroom. "What are we learning about today?"

"With the decade dance tonight, we've been covering the sixties all week."

Klaus internally groaned, "Right. The Sixties."

He looked around the classroom, and set his sights on his precious doppelgänger. Of course, he should've expected her to look like all of the others, but this one seemed so...dull, in comparison to the previous ones that he had known.

Finally, he turned to the blackboard and wrote '60' on it. "Where to start? I wish there was something good to say about it, but, it sucked. Honestly, it was boring, except for the Beatles. Uhm...there was the Cuban missile thing and some dude got sent to the moon, what else? Watergate?"

"Watergate was the seventies, Mister Saltzman." Elena corrected him, and Klaus stilled awkwardly.

Those decades were the same to him. "Ah yes, it kind of all mushes together up here. Thank you, Elena."

He set the class a small task, so that he didn't have to 'work', and Klaus propped his feet up on the desk in boredom as he watched his doppelgänger behave like a good little student. He couldn't wait to perform the ritual, and drain her of her blood. He eyed Stefan Salvatore from over her shoulder, and grinned to himself. Ah, the Ripper of Monterey! Of course, he would have to get the admirable vampire to come on his wolf hunt, once this was all over and done with.

There was a knock at the door, and Klaus looked up tiredly. Was it a common occurrence for humans to interrupt? He straightened up however, when a young woman poked her head around the doorway and smiled apologetically.

"Mister Saltzman, can I borrow you for a moment?"

He had no idea who this woman was, but he found the he didn't mind loaning her some of his time. As he stood up from his chair, he watched as she shared a smile with Caroline Forbes.

As he stepped out into the corridor with her, and got a better look at her features - he felt his chest tighten, for she was the most beautiful girl he had even laid eyes upon in his entire life. There had been many pretty women in his lifetime, of course, but this lady was positively enchanting.

Her skin was creamy and smooth, her hair the colour of pure sunshine, cascading over her shoulders in natural waves. Her eyes were a mesmerising meadow green.

Judging by how she was covered in paint, she was an artist too.

He was at a loss for words over her beauty.

"Are we still on for, err, this afternoon?"

A date, he hoped. "Remind me again, what it is we're supposed to be doing?"

She frowned, and the expression was endearing, "Err...training for supernatural entity ass-kicking?"

Klaus found himself amused; this sweet little thing was Alaric's protégée? "Of course, love." He replied with a smile. He suddenly remembered that he was not in his own body, so he would have to hold off the flirting until he was back in his own form. For a moment, Klaus pondered on how she would taste.

"Great!" Her smile was dazzling. "I saw that you've put your name down as chaperone, for the decade dance?"

"Yes." He replied, "Will I see you there?"

"Oh, god no!" She laughed lightly, and the sound was melodic. "By the time I get home, I've had enough of students. I'll let you get back to your class; I've got to get back to mine before there's paint all over the walls."

"See you this afternoon."

"Two o'clock. I'll meet you at the Grill." He watched her wave at him from over her shoulder, and disappear down the corridor before he made his way back into the boring classroom.

As the bell finally rang for lunch, Klaus pulled one of the students to the side to compel them to give Elena a message, before he left to meet the unnamed woman at the towns restaurant.

He was using Alaric's car to keep up appearances, and luckily, the history teacher had his bag of tricks in the boot. He picked the beautiful blonde up from outside of the Mystic Grill, and felt his chest tighten again when she shot that lovely smile of hers towards him.

Before he could even think about getting out to open the door for her, she had already ran around the vehicle and hopped in herself. "Can we go out into the woods again?" She asked, "I brought my camera so I could take some pictures of the trees - for the painting I'm working on. I can't seem to get the shading right. Today's the perfect weather for capturing the sunlight breaking through the leaves."

"Wherever you wish to go."

"Thanks, Ric." She replied with another beaming smile. "I won't keep you too long though, I know you've got to get ready for chaperoning duty. And Damon asked me, to ask you, if you got his message?"

"About stopping by the Boarding House on the way to the dance? I did." Klaus chuckled to himself at their blatant suicide mission, perhaps he would let them all live once he had broken the curse - just so that they would be reminded of their failure for however many years they would each have left. "Apparently, Bonnie has been practicing."
