As Klaus made his way into the high school, he danced his way across the floor, so that he could reach the student that he had compelled that morning, after history class.
He compelled her to announce a special dedication song for Elena, whilst tasking her boyfriend and his friends to beat up Jeremy Gilbert. He knew Stefan and Damon would be keeping a close eye on Elena tonight, and although it wasn't the precious doppelgänger that he was after - he knew that Bonnie Bennet wouldn't be far from the Gilbert girl. A diversion was what he needed, in order to get the little witch away from her friends.
In any case, he was relatively pleased when Elena became spooked as Dana announced the song. He watched as Damon and Stefan left the room, and as soon as the Salvatore's disappeared from the room - he decided that now was the time to strike. Quickly, he made his way over to Elena and Bonnie.
"He has Jeremy!" He alerted them, trying to make Alaric sound worried. The emotion felt foreign to the tongue.
It obviously worked, because both girls were in instant panic mode. "What?" They exclaimed, with wide eyes.
"Yeah, Klaus has Jeremy. Come on!" He made a dash towards a set of doors, and he could hear that the girls were hot on his heels.
He had them race after him down the corridor, before he slowed his pace. He wasn't used to becoming out of breath, so quickly. The sooner he was out of this human body, the better.
"Where are you taking us?" Elena asked.
"Just a little further." Klaus replied, feeling a small grin slipping onto his face.
"Something isn't right, where's Jeremy?"
Klaus stopped walking and laughed a little, "I just had to get out of there. The sixties, ugh, not my decade. I much preferred the twenties. The style, the parties, and the jazz."
"Ric, are you on vervain?" Elena asked.
He rolled his eyes. How obvious could he be? "I'll give you a hint, eh? I am not Alaric." He watched with immense satisfaction as the blood drained out of both Elena and Bonnie's faces, as realisation finally hit them.
"You're Klaus."
"Surprise!" He exclaimed jovially, grinning from ear to ear as terror became alight in Elena's eyes. "Oh relax, Elena. Consider yourself lucky, you're not on my hit list tonight." He allowed them a few moments to think that they were safe, and he basked in knowing that the false sense of security was about to be crushed, like an ant under his boot. He turned his attention to the Bennett witch, and smirked, "But you are."
He made a move towards the witch, who was terrified beyond belief at not having seen this coming, and found himself thrown against a row of lockers. He felt no pain, but he knew that Alaric would be badly bruised in the morning. "By all means, fire away!" He felt sinisterly satisfied, when Elena and Bonnie threw themselves into panic as they watched him jump back to his feet - completely unharmed. "If you kill this body, I'll just use Jeremy as a replacement."
"Elena, run!" Bonnie screamed.
Klaus laughed at their feeble attempts to flee. He knew that they wouldn't get very far; after Bonnie had so obviously said that she thought she had the strength the kill him - it was only a matter of time before she returned on her own.
Being in a human body, Klaus made his way into the schools cafeteria where he picked up a knife. He examined the blade momentarily, before taking a seat at one of the tables. He twirled it expertly between his fingers, and he wasn't waiting for very long before Bonnie entered: alone.
"What took you so long?" He questioned, rising to Alaric's aching legs. "Are we going to to this the easy way, or the hard way?"
He felt the bones in Alaric's wrist snap, and the knife clattered to the ground. Sighing, he rolled his eyes at the witch before simply snapping the bones back into place. "Oh, I love it when people chose the hard way. It makes killing them all the more satisfying."
Klaus felt his shoulder popping out next, and he groaned in annoyance as he shrugged the limb back into place. Although he couldn't feel the pain, he was stiff in the places that had been broken by the witch and his already slow movements in the body that weren't his, were going to be hindered even more. It didn't matter, however, he only had to make the little witch use enough magic to commit suicide.
He grinned, upon spotting her nose start bleeding, "Oh dear, little witch-" His ankle gave away, and the lights in the cafeteria began to flash dangerously above them. "Is that all you've got?" He taunted.
He started to crawl towards her - the threat of him reaching her and putting her in harms way was enough to make the witch panic. Sparks began to fall from the electricity wires above them, and Klaus couldn't help but feel his win within his grasp. He heard Elena scream, and he could see Stefan trying and failing to open the doors in order to help Bonnie. The closer he got to her, the more the Bennett witch panicked, until finally, her body bent backwards at the most disturbing angle and she dropped to the ground as the lights finally burst - leaving them in sheer darkness.
Klaus could hear no heartbeat.
Satisfied that his job was done, and the little witch was no longer a problem for him, he pushed himself to his feet and dusted off Alaric's clothes before leaving the school.
As Klaus entered Alaric's apartment, he clapped his hands together, "Right, my merry band of misfits!" He began, "Maddox, fetch my body. I can't wait to get out of this awful, bad hair, bad clothed, stiff and achy, alcoholic teacher, petty human body. And do be snappy about it, you know how impatient I get."
"I'll be as quick as I can!" Maddox left before Klaus had even sat himself down onto the sofa.
The Original sat down with a huff, and stretched out his sore limbs. "Get me a bourbon, Katerina. There's a good girl."
"Do you think it's a good idea, going back into your body so soon?"
Klaus rolled his eyes, as he placed the moonstone on the table. "The full moon is almost upon us, and I have everything set. I am ready to finally break the curse..." He tutted towards her, "This could've been all over years ago, Katerina, but you had to get all precious."
"Why do you need to do the ritual here?"
"Because it's Elena's birthplace. I have to." He replied simply, "Which you would have known if you'd have stuck around long enough, way back when. Although, I did find your birthplace and slaughter your family so, I guess putting that up against your betrayal...we're cool. Let's just hope Elena isn't as stupid as you. I've already had to kill one of her friends; it'd be a shame for her if the rest of them followed."
"Elena won't run." Katerina stated, piquing Klaus' interest. "She's too much of a martyr for that."
"Oh? Well, that is excellent news." He said, "Although, I suppose, killing her loved ones would be fun. Did you say she had an aunt?"
"Jenna Sommers." The Petrova replied, "She's Alaric's girlfriend."
