" How are you feeling, Lumine? " Aiden said as he walked beside me, gently ruffling my hair.

" I feel fine. Still recovering though. " I said, giving a lighthearted giggle. I found that I was starting to feel like myself again, just with a bit more anxiety and distrust around people I didn't know before the whole mess.

" That's good. Kody is making breakfast right now, so if you feel hungry feel free to join him. " He said. I nodded.

" Okay. See you later! " I said, waving my hand as I bounced off to the kitchen. I could hear Aiden chuckle before a loud smack and Sherry yelling at him to get back to work. I would bet my life that Sherry could probably list off a whole notebook full of times and ways Aiden has slacked off.

" Hey Kody! " I said, popping up behind Kody while he poured some milk into a bowl of cereal.

" Hey. I can tell your feeling better than 2 months ago. " He said, looking back at me.

" Uh.. K-Kody.. " I stuttered, pointing at the overflowing cereal bowl.

" Hm? " He said and his eyes followed to where my finger was pointed. He immediately let a string of curses fall from his mouth, slamming the milk jug down on the counter and grabbing a bunch of paper towels.

" What a mess.. " He sighed after cleaning up all of the milk and cereal from all of the surfaces. He suddenly looked up as if remembering something.

" Ah.. So, remember when you said you wanted to treat the day that you started living here as your birthday? What would you want? " Kody asked me, his cheek in his hand as he leaned on the counter, looking at me. I felt my face heat up slightly as I giggled.

" W-Well, I was thinking about getting my ears pierced.. So, if I was able to.. Maybe a pair of earrings? I don't know.. " I said. He shrugged.

" Okay. I'll talk to my dad about it. If you think about anything else, feel free to tell me.  " He said, grabbing a small bowl and some eggs from the fridge.

He then proceeded to make some scrambled eggs and toast. By the time it was done, my stomach growled loudly as if it was pleading for me to just eat already.

I saw down and Kody slid a plate over to me. I smiled and thanked him before eating, my legs swinging back and forth under the table and hitting the chair legs.

" Your even good at cooking! Hehe. " I said, giggling as I remembered how good at baking he was.

" Oh, hush you. " He said, getting up and disposing of any leftover food on his plate before setting it into the sink, giving it a quick rinse before leaving the kitchen.

I rinsed off my plate and went into the living room, where I laid on my stomach and lazily buried my face in my pillow.

I sat there for a bit, thinking about what I should eat for lunch.

"My lord, what did I say about sitting like that on the couch? " Kody said and moved my legs so they were hanging over the back of my thighs.

" But Kody.. It's comfortable.. " I said, my voice slightly muffled by the pillow.

" Hush. Go change into something you will be less warm in. We're going somewhere pretty soon. "

" Mmmmmkay.. " I said, rolling off the couch and entering my room. I looked through my closet, finding some mid thigh length black shorts and a white, sky blue striped shirt.

" Ready. " I said, resting my chin atop Kody's head. He groaned as he moved his head from under me.

" Lumine!! " Aiden yelled before lifting me up off the ground.

" Uwah! Aiden?! " He laughed before putting me down.

" Alrighty! Now, run along and get in the car. I need to do something beforehand! " He said, disappearing from our vision with the turn of a corner.

" He sounds like a pedophile trying to lure a kid into their car. " Kody said with a completely straight face.

" Kody.. " I smiled softly. I could never tell if he was joking or not.

" Well, let's get into the pedophiles car, kids. " He said sarcastically and started dragging me behind him.
