Logan's P.O.V

God this prick could not be any faker. I see straight through his façade, there is no fooling me buddy.

"So, why exactly are you guys here?" he asked my Beta and me. His words came out uneven, almost slurred. Was he drunk!? It was only bloody 1:00 PM! I couldn't stop glaring at him, he better not have hurt my mate or so help me God I will-

"Well, we just wanted to welcome you to the neighbourhood!" Kayden said, trying to ease the tension. I continued to glare at my mate's father. Something about him made me feel uneasy. I then started to survey the area. Everything seemed normal, like a lovely little family home. That was until I noticed a small drop of blood creeping out from under the woollen carpet that adorned the hardwood flooring. Richard noticed me staring at the floor and began to clear his throat.

"Oh, how lovely of you... Well, consider us welcomed. Is there anything else?"

"Yes, actually. There is something we need to discuss..." Before I could finish my question, the door opened slowly and revealed the only person that could truly brighten my day.

My beautiful mate.

Arabella's P.O.V

Oh my God, this cannot be happening! This CANNOT be happening!

Why is Logan at my house? Who is that sitting opposite him?

He saw my bruises and now he is at my house, this definitely is not a coincidence! I cannot believe this is happening. Before I started to hyperventilate, Logan stood up out of his chair and grabbed my hand. My discomfort started to ease upon contact. That's odd...

"Oh, we know each other very well sir. Do you mind if Bella and I have a little chat outside?"

"Sure! Go ahead, son." Richard sent daggers at me when he spoke. Boy, if looks could kill...

Logan gave me a reassuring smile and lead me outside, leaving his friend inside with Richard. Once we were a fair distance away from my front door, Logan began to speak.

"Look, Bella, I know something is up." Oh no! My hands started to get sweaty and my breathing became more laboured.

"What do you mean?" typical Bella, playing the dumb card... You know that he won't fall for that!

"You know exactly what I mean!" Told you...

He cleared his throat clearing noticing my obvious discomfort, "What I am trying to say is that those bruises weren't caused by your clumsiness and I don't want to hear any more stupid excuses. I know you feel like you don't know me very well. So, intruding on your life, being in your home and speaking to your father might come off as obtrusive and rude on my behalf. But I have this undeniable need to protect you from harm, one day it will all make sense to you... For now, I need you to be honest with me so that I can help you. Please, Bella, let me help you. Tell me who did this to you..."

I stared up at him, his hands still held mine. Looking into his emerald eyes, I weighed the pros and cons of the situation. An inner war raged on in my head on whether to follow my head or my heart. I could just simply push him away like everyone else. But he isn't like everyone else and I felt as though if I was to push him away, he would come marching back with even more determination. He doesn't look like the sort to give up. I have never trusted a soul with my secret, too afraid of the ramifications that would follow. Yet, a part of me was sick of relying on myself all the time to pick up the pieces. Everyone needs someone, right? I honestly didn't know what to do! Trust the only person I felt I could trust and risk both of us getting hurt or push him away for it to probably happen all over again in a few months time. Realising that I had been staring at him for a long time, I cleared my throat, took a deep breath and whispered the one word that would ultimately determine my future, realigning my fate for, what I hoped to be, good...

"Okay."

Please tell me I made the right decision.
