Math class... what a stupid invention. Sorry for all of those that enjoy it, but I am not one of those people. Looking at the clock ticking away on the bricked wall, I started reminiscing over today's events. After walking away from Logan, I picked my jumper off the floor whilst everyone was in second period and zipped up my tiny frame. I went to my locker and grabbed everything that I needed. The bell was close to ringing for third period and in the few minutes that spared, I looked at the doors Logan pushed me out of not too long ago...
He never came back.
A sudden sense of worry washed over me like a tidal wave. He wouldn't tell anyone, would he? I should have explained to him what happened or at least came up with a better excuse other than that I ran into a knife! How stupid am I? I was just in so much shock that no sensible words could be formed. God, do I feel stupid... So undeniably stupid. He is probably out there sharing my secret with everyone. Before you know it, I will be the punching bag of the entire town. Even though I felt worried and extremely stressed, I had some sort of irrefutable faith in him, I trust him. Jesus Bella, get a hold of yourself! You hardly know the guy!
While I got lost in my thoughts, I hadn't realised that the bell had rung. So, I hurried along to the one place, other than home, that I definitely did not want to be.
Math class... ugh! Take me back to 4th grade where we played with blocks. Before I knew it, the bell rang once again, and I was out of there. I looked down the hallways and I still couldn't see Logan anywhere. Why did he leave? Instead of continuing to suffer throughout the day with the amount of pain I am having to deal with, I decided to leave. Grabbing my stuff from my locker, I began to make my trek home. I had my first shift at the bakery today and if I have any hope of leaving this sorry town, I need to start saving. I may have my mother's money, but I will need more of it. First, I had to go home and change. Hopefully, he is asleep and stays asleep until I get home. Maybe I can make dinner before I leave so that I won't get a beating when I come home late... A girl can only dream.
Rounding a corner, I come face to face with what I am meant to refer to as a 'home'. Right... Making my way to the door, I start to pick up on another man's voice. I open the door and see my father sitting at the dining table with two other people. He smiles at me.
"Hey, sweetie! You are home early, is everything okay?" He emphasised the word, okay and I knew that I was meant to play along unless I wanted to get a beating tonight that was worse than all the others.
"O-oh um y-yes father. I just wasn't feeling too good and decided to come home. I hope that is o-okay?" I replied whilst taking off my sneakers.
"Oh, honey! Do you need any medicine? Or maybe some soup? You are not coming down with a cold or anything like that, are you?" Wow, he is good at this. I shook my head and looked at the two figures sitting at the table. Why do they look familiar?
"Oh! These two lovely gentlemen were just welcoming us to the neighbourhood! You appear to be the same age, maybe you all go to the same school?" Richard asked with a sinister undertone. I remembered what he told me a few years ago when high school began...
"No friends! You understand bitch!?"
I gulped and continued to stare at the two men that occupied our humble abode. One of the people nodded and then turned to look at me, their eyes held a sense of certainty and determination. They weren't buying a single thing my father said, and I don't know whether that brought me comfort or made me feel equally as horrified.
"Nice to see you again, love."
