To Mother, Father, and Quigley
When you lose a loved one
Who means the entire world to you,
Your world turns upside down
And you don't know what to do.
You can't seem to understand why
When your mind is not your own,
You can't seem to look forward
When your feeling so alone.
Weeks and months start passing by
And you manage in a way,
Your heart still feels broken
Silent thoughts and memories stay.
What I'd give to see you again
For just a little while,
I often sit and think of you
And remember with such a smile.
I'd want to say so many things
I don't know where I'd start,
I seem to have lost my visions
With the sorrow that clouds my heart.
We shared some happy times together
And we shared some sad ones too,
But the saddest day of my life
Was the day that I lost you.

In the ruins of a fire
One possession we acquired
The brass telescope from Father's desk
Still resolute and statuesque
Mr Poe came to get us outside the ruins of our old home today.
He took us to his house for lunch, then gave us the uniforms to our new school. It is a white button-down shirt under a grey jumper and a maroon blazer. Duncan gets to wear pants, but I have to wear tights and a skirt. Then Mr Poe drove us three hours.
