Jesus fucking Christ.
It just hit me again. I'm literally sitting directly next to the man I've admired since... well.. forever basically.
He stared up at the screen, glasses rested perfectly against the bridge of his nose. His hat was still on, with the hood over the top of it. Likely to disguise him from other people, who might be super fans. A safety precaution I presumed.
I was too distracted, I couldn't even focus on a movie, though by now I had forgotten what movie we were even seeing. I needed to breathe.
"Excuse me, I'm going to run to the restroom" I said quietly, mostly towards Paige, who was still on her phone, but Brendon heard it as well.I made my way to the restroom, so many thoughts jumbled in my head. I had to keep the number six in my mind, that's the theatre we were in. I guess the movie was called What Happens in Vegas? Oh well. Cheesy anyways.
I splashed some water in my face. The man wasn't actually Brendon right? He was just some look alike. What's the chance that Brendon Urie would be walking in this small city alone, no body guards, and just happened to see this unknown cheesy rom com, in the exact same theatre as me? It's slim to none.
After finally convincing myself that the man was just a lookalike, I left the restroom. But the moment I did so, I was greeted by an unfamiliar face. It was the man from earlier, in the grey hoodie. He got closer from behind, and placed a hand on my shoulder.
"Funny to see you again, luv"
His voice sent chills down my spine. This wasn't good, why did I come alone?
I tried to walk away, but his grip got tighter and he walked with me.
"So what theatre are we in?"
What theatre was I in? And do I tell him which one my friend is in?? Or do I go to a random one.
I'm hesitating, thinking too much.. what the fuck am i supposed to do in this situation?
"I don't have all day.."
He snickered, maliciously. Something sharp poked my back lightly. He had a knife?
"Theatre six." The theatre I was in was mostly empty, but at least Paige would be there.. wait, the lookalike would be too! That's at least two people to help me. We started walking in the direction of the theatre.
"Hey bud, how about you take your hands off the nice lady." A familiar voice said from behind. "Or do I need to get security?"
The point of the knife lifted off my back, and the right grip on my shoulder instantly ceased.
"Heya pal, I'm just tryna go see a movie with my girlfriend. Mind your business"
"I know for a fact that's not your girlfriend jackass. That was my date, I just went looking for her, she was taking longer than expected and I got worried, I guess rightfully so" the voice got closer as he talked, was this the lookalike? He grabbed my arm and pulled me towards him, away from the other guy.
"Oh yah? What theatre are ya in then?"
"Theatre six. Seeing that cheesy rom com, What Happens In Vegas."
"I dunno pal, I'm not buying it."
I was starting to think that this wasn't a lookalike, the voice, the manner of speaking was too similar.. with a swift movement, he pulled out his phone and pressed a button on an app I'd never seen. Almost instantly, two large men came out of the theatre we had been in and stood behind us.
"Do I need to get security involved?"
The man was stunned, he just took a few steps back and started to run.
"I'd suggest going after him.. he might've been armed?" He looked to me, and I nodded "yeah, he was armed."
The men headed off after him, and Brendon took his arm off of me.
"You're not one to get into trouble like this often, right?" He chuckled
"No... I'm not." I looked down at my feet, but then looked back up at him "thank you, so much. You likely just saved my life."
"You don't need to thank me. Did you think I'd just let you get kidnapped?""You don't even know me."
"No, but I know that the world is dangerous, and this isn't a good part of town." He sighed "you'd taken a while, and your friend was asleep and didn't even notice. If I didn't care enough to come out, you could've gotten seriously hurt, especially if he was armed."
I couldn't think of anything to say, so I stayed silent. We just stared at eachother, and then I broke the silence.
"We should probably go finish the movie."
