Lucknow, India
And then finally, they saw her. Dressed in a blue kurta and black leggings, thinner than before, sat Meera. Her face had lost the sparks. Tears were flowing down her eyes. She was afraid for her husband. Rajat took a deep breath. The time had finally arrived. He felt Sapna move past him. He saw both the friends hugging. He saw Meera looking at him.......
He made Sara to stand on her feet as he saw his sister walking towards him. And then she hugged him. Sapna held Sara's hand while Rajat pulled his sister in a protective embrace. Tears escaped his eyes as he heard her sobs. Rubbing her back, he whispered, "He will be fine, Meera. He loves you too much to leave you alone." Meera broke the hug and said, "He stopped eating, bhai. Doctor told me that he is very weak. He hasn't eaten anything for the past three days. All this is my fault. I did pay attention to his health while he continued to pamper me." "He stopped eating because he wanted your attention," said Sapna. The brother-sister looked at her. She continued, "I know you are hurt. But Aryan is repenting Meera. Don't punish him now." Meera nodded. Rajat wanted to apologize too but he could not form words. At the same time, the doctor allowed them to meet Aryan. They all rushed inside the room.
Aryan was lying on the bed, looking extremely weak. "What the hell is this, bhai? How could you behave so irresponsibly?" exclaimed Sapna. But Aryan was not hearing. He was staring at Rajat. His eyes became red as he asked Sapna, "Why did you tell him?" Before Sapna could say something, Rajat spoke, "She did not." Meera was the one who spoke this time, "Then how did you find me? I am quite sure Dad wouldn't have supported you." "I never found you, Meera. Aryan did," replied Rajat. "You got me followed?" asked a shocked Aryan. Rajat nodded and moved to Meera. "Please forgive me, Meera. Give me one last chance," he begged. "I want to go home," Meera spoke. Everyone nodded and soon the five of them were home.
Aryan and Meera's flat
The journey from the hospital to their house was enough for Sara to bond with her aunt. She was now sitting in Meera's laps, playing with her hair. Meera too was loving all the attention the little girl was giving her. She fed her niece and lulled her to sleep. As the little girl slept, Sapna spoke, "I think we should sleep now. Rajat and bhai could sleep in one room. Sara and I will sleep with Meera." She looked at Aryan pleadingly. Aryan nodded.
Meera's Room
Meera laid down Sara on the bed. She gestured Sapna to sit with her. "Dream, is everything alright between you and bhai?" asked a worried Meera. Sapna sighed and replied, "How could it be fine, Meera? After what he did with you. We don't even talk now. Half because of my anger and half because of his guilt."
Meera shook her head. One night had spoiled so many things. She could see Aryan suffering. She could see guilt in Rajat's eyes. She could see pain on Sapna's face. And she herself....no words could describe what she was feeling. And then suddenly, her eyes fell on Sara. She looked at Sapna and asked, "If you and bhai are jot even on talking terms, then Sara..."
Sapna smiled. She looked lovingly at her daughter and said, "I saw her in an orphanage. She was six months old. I don't know why but I couldn't forget her face. Rajat too felt a strange pull towards her. So here she is, as our daughter, Sara Kapoor."
