Over the last few days, I have gotten to know Jeongguk a lot. He talks constantly, but none of what he says is rubbish.
He invited me to a pre-graduation party in honour of the seniors. It kind of sounds like a farewell but he says that its not a farewell party.
Its more like a concert, where the students perform. And since he is here at the dance academy, all the academy is invited.
Apparently, these people have been preparing a performance, for the concert.
I dont believe how it happened, but I let myself be sweet-talked by Jeongguk into being a part of the performance.
So, here i am.. practicing day and night for the concert.
I would be lying if i said that I dont enjoy these hours that I spend dancing, but when I return home and cant tell Tae about the new moves I learned, the pain of his loss hits me hard.
I dont expect Jeongguk to know this, but the exhaustion from practice and from crying myself to sleep every night is getting to me.
There are bags under my eyes, I haven't had a proper meal in 5 days and I think I might be dreaming right now.
I know I dont look my best right now, but still Jeongguk said to me today that I looked stunning. Maybe he was taunting me, and clueless me didn't even catch it.
I am rubbing my stiff neck absently, sitting in my usual corner when a girl approaches me with what I assume is a slushie.
She sits down next to me and offers me the brown colored drink, "Is your neck hurting too much?" She has a really kind voice.
I take the drink from her and sip on the straw for a minute before answering, "Yeah. It does. But I will put some bandage today, so it should be fine." I smile at her.
She offers me her hand, "I am Adora. Nice to meet you, Park Jimin."
She smiles a smile of her own.
"How do you know my name?" I ask her.
" And nice to meet you too...(I guess)"
She laughs at that.
"Everybody knows who you are. That boy, Jeongguk wouldnt shut up about you. Thats why no one else ever comes near you. You are 'off-limits'."
"Oh?" I am dumbfounded at that.
I find this adorable, that Jeongguk would warn everyone about approaching me.
But then, "Then, why are you here?", this thought suddenly strikes me.
"Ah, I know you aren't interested in girls. So, i thought it'd be safe for girls to talk to you." She says it so non-chalantly that I dont immediately reply.
"Who said I dont like girls?" I ask.
"Oh, um. I actually knew Taehyung, and now you are here with Jeongguk...! So 2 plus 2...?"
This makes me laugh.
"Yeah, nice.. I wouldnt mind it if you would hang out with me more..." I smile as I say this.
It would be nice to have new friends, friends that dont remind me of my Tae.
Jeongguk must've seen us talking, so he came over and sat down beside me, too close than necessary.
He glares at Adora, and she chuckles.
I immediately take to liking this girl. She is bold and isn't afraid of Jeongguk.
Yeah, we might just become fast friends.
We talk for a few more minutes.
She asks me for my number and I offer her my phone.
She types in her number and passes me my phone back after calling herself with it. Now she has my number and I have hers.
As she gets up to walk away from us, I thank her and wish her good luck.
Jeongguk is now staring at me with doubt in his eyes.
"What?" I ask him.
"Nothing. Would you like to go to the cafe again today?" He replies.
"Yeah, sure. I dont know why you ask me the same question everyday?" I say.
"Because I want to give you stability."
