The weekend flew by at an alarming speed, welcoming Monday with an unwanted swiftness. With no excuse other than my lack of enthusiasm, I had no choice but to drag my ass to Archer&Associate.

Provided Cole Vanderwill was my only case for the moment, and I haven't received any more new updates about his majesty or his vicious Machiavelli surreptitious plans, the next best thing for me was to check on my 'not so reliable' assistant and do damage control. As annoying as being Mr Archer's executive assistant was right now, I had commitments to fulfil, and a cooperate to preserve.

Moreover, my large leaves of absences would no longer go unnoticed if I insist on drying this particularly precious well. I had to suck it up and wisely use my resources to limit questions and suspicion for the upcoming long 'vacation' I will soon have to take. Tracking Vanderwill and finishing him off was after all my only priority.

Besides, I had an essential meeting and lunch with Logan. Him falling in love and requesting to be out of our spy life ended up to be quite advantageous. Not only does he fulfil my plan of infiltrating someone I entirely trust with my life, in the highest position at Archer&Associate, but he also made it easy for me to cheat my agency's policy about assassins who try to leave before retirement. Plus I will finally get to meet the lucky woman who managed to capture my big bro's heart. To find out if she is good enough to be Logan's wife; to be my sister-in-law.

Judging from the look on Federick's face I would safely presume he was shocked to see me at work. I'll bet he thought I would be too scared to show my face so soon.

'Ha, take that asshole!' I mentally shouted with triumphant. Yet another blow to his ego.

Spending the day ignoring the awkward atmosphere lingering between us, I continued on with my work. The air on the entire floor was so suppressed, anyone who made the mistake of walking on our floor felt the suppression like a bottle crushed in a gravity-free planet within a matter of seconds. Even though I was confused and still trying to figure out what really happened between us last week or why I allowed it, I was not going to let Federick Ashton Archer intimidate me. He was not going to win this.

By noon, I was more than ready to scurry out of the office for a much deserving lunch with Logan. Wearing my big-responsible-girl pants on, I paged Federick to inform him of my departure. Skillfully brushing off his thousand questions and putting a full stop to his inquisitive behaviour, I walked out to the outdoor restaurant in the city, a few blocks away from Archer&Associate.

Meeting up with Logan at the restaurant, I found out his fiancé wasn't going to make it on time. Her boss apparently was trying to extort as many hours from her as possible before her contract reached an end. Already, I wasn't impressed by her or her lack of timing sensibility. The lady managed to earn herself a lousy beginning with me, and she wasn't even present yet.
