Holding onto the two-frame portrait of my dad and Mia, the event of my day came crashing down on me. Damien was back, and I was finally closing up on Vanderwill. Stroking both of the two person's picture who died because of me, my mind slowly drifted back to an 'oh-too-familiar' memory lane.

****

Discreetly tailing one of Vanderwill's well-known follower after months of research, I was able to infiltrate Vanderwill's newest hideout. Itching to finish off Vanderwill without losing any more time, I was finding it near to impossible to wait for the right opportunity. Nevertheless, I waited until all his men left to barge inside his office space and started kicking the life out of him.

Letting all my fury combined with my sadness pour over Vanderwill, I could literally hear the faint noise of breaking ribs as I near knocked him out with all my kicks, blows and punches. I must say he was doing a damn good job at defending himself for someone who was taken by an unexpected attack. However, I couldn't care less, I felt like an angry and hungry tiger attacking its prey as if I have not been appropriately fed for a year. It was crystal clear, I was behaving like someone with whom no one wants to be messing with.

I was so focused blindly lashing out at Vanderwill, fighting in an uncoordinated fashion that I did not see what was coming my way. The unexpected happened when Vanderwill effectively blocked one of many kicks, abruptly took hold of my leg and flipped me over his shoulder. He rapidly followed his attacks with a sidekick on my stomach, forcing me to go down in a daze.

Taking advantage of the small period it took me to shake off the confusion, Vanderwill jumped on me and tackled me to the ground. I was, however, still ready to fight back and pounce like the angry tiger I was. I wasn't seeing the big picture though. I was using my anger, frustration and fury to fight back, instead of using strategies and strength as I was trained. This choice, however, quickly proved to be the opposite of what was considered a bright idea.

About ready to push Cole Vanderwill off of me, I heard a deep, loud menacing booming voice coming from the entrance.

"GET OFF MY DAUGHTER, YOU FUCKER! If you are not off of her in 5 fucking seconds, I will make sure you will be begging me to end your miserable fucking life."

Yes, my daddy swore like a drunken sailor, but only when he was in his agent more, otherwise he was very gentle, kind and almost perfect. I remembered how I use to see all my female teachers and pretty much all the female population openly flirting with him, that too in front of me. - It was just yuck... On the other hand, I'll bet all my money he was furious at this particular moment, his face was a clear indication of the latter. And one doesn't want to mess with a piss off Robert Smith. He was one rank below me on the anger level, but it was still pretty bad.

"FATHER!" I muttered in surprise as I tried to twist away from Vanderwill's crushing weight, compelling both men to turn their heads towards me. I could still see the sadness in the depth of my father's eyes, but the anger for Vanderwill was more dominant.
