7:30 a.m.

It was Tuesday and the events of last night ran through my mind like a record. The first kiss with Johnny and then the dinner date at 1 am. I couldn't forget the goodnight kiss he gave me at my doorstep as well. It was almost like a movie. It didn't feel real.

I arrived at school and saw Brynn standing by my car. She looked worried and I remembered faintly that she caught Johnny and I.

"Are you okay? I've been trying to call you all night."

"Yeah, Johnny gave me a ride home."

Once I said that she smirked. "So, you and Johnny..." she was cautious with her next words, "are you two together?"

I was surprised by her question. She knew how much I hated him but then again she also saw us kissing.

"No but I kind of - I don't know. It's all so confusing."
She nodded as if she understood. I doubt she did but I was glad for her support. I guess she could sense my emotions because her face brightened with an idea.
"Let's have a girls night after school. You, me, and Annie. No boys except for the hot ones we'll be watching on tv tonight."

I smiled. Brynn could make anyone happy.

"Yes! Speaking of Annie, where is she? I haven't seen her since last night."

"Last I saw her she was with a bunch of guys at the party. I've been trying to get ahold of her all night too."

I took out my phone and tried to call her a few times. On the third call she picked up sounding like she just woke up.

"Annie? Where are you?"

"Mackenzie! Hey, I'm kind of busy right now."

I could hear the faint sound of a guys voice in the background.

"Are you coming to school today or staying with your boyfriend in bed?" I sounded a little harsh but I knew Annie would give me a straight answer.

"I'm not coming to school today. Still got a hangover from last night."

"We're gonna have a girls night after school. If you wanna come you can just be at my house around 6."

"K, see you there."

She hung up and the bell for first class rang.

12:05 p.m.

Finally, it was lunch time and I had managed to avoid Johnny in my morning classes but I couldn't avoid him in science. Which was the class right after lunch.

Brynn was stuck doing a math test for the rest of lunch and so I was stuck alone for lunch. I could hang out with Emily.

Emily Skinner was also one of my best friends but she doesn't like Annie that much. So we don't hang out as a big group.

But I wanted to be alone for at least 20 minutes to think. Just to think about everything. Johnny, my mom, and life in general.

I started to walk to this secret place that I found behind the school field. It's beautiful there. I first found it when I came to the school a couple years ago and have never told anyone about it to this day.

I sat beneath the giant willow tree and thought. Thought about Johnny and what it meant for him to kiss me and what it meant to me.
