James' POV
"Omg stop fucking beeping your car at me, the light literally just turned green .5 seconds ago."
The same car has been driving behind me for the past ten minutes and the driver won't freaking chill.
'What a great attitude to have before a dat-planned beneficial get together with kinda friends'
"You know what, freaking prick, just drive past me then, here I'll slow down and you can—yeah there you go. Don't be homophobic next time."
Was he actually being homophobic? Maybe not. I just felt attacked on a personal level.
'Driving is so much fun'
My alarm did a big 'fuck you' and decided to not wake me up, giving me a pretty late start. Starting late for me means ending late, by the looks of it I'm gonna be about five minutes late. It's better than just not showing up at all. Right?
I definitely contemplated just staying in.
As predicted I pulled into the cafe parking lot five minutes past the preplanned time. Grayson's blue Porsche immediately catches my eye, it's a sharp contrast from the other more common vehicles in the parking lot.
'A casual meet up with the Dolan Twins, no biggie'
Should I park next to him or..?
If things go to shit in there do I want to be caught in that awkward situation of walking to our cars together? But I'd be parked closer to the entrance which means quick getaway.
'Stop stalling and park the goddamn car James'
I take the open spot next to expensive blue car and make my way inside. The cafe is quiet, the only constant sound being the soft music playing in the background. The lack of people surprises me, in all honesty this place looks like it should be bringing in a great amount of customers.
It only takes seconds for me to spot the brown haired stud however it seems it took him no time at all to find me.
I can't help but notice the empty chairs surrounding the table Grayson is currently seated at, but, I smile through the nerves as I meet those hazel eyes.
He gets up as I make my way over, a welcoming smile greeting me as I say the first hello.
"Hey Gr-oh...!" The strong arms that wrap themselves around my waist is a surprise.
My face heats up with the realization, our first hug. He's willingly holding me, fucking touching me without being forced to because I'm a clumsy child that falls on people.
'Hug him back dumbass!'
I quickly wrap my arms around him, a little too quickly to be considered normal but he doesn't stop hugging me so I guess it's fine.
'I'm not gonna lie, this hug feels kinda—intimate'
Grayson clears his throat before letting me go, a shy smile adorning his lips and stealing all my attention.
"Wow, James I'm glad you could make it." He says before gently directing me to a seat.
"James?" I say mischievously as he takes his own seat.
