"where are you going?" Lauren peeked over her phone and looked at me.
"out with ashton."
"oooo ashton," she wiggled her eyebrows up and down.
"yes ashton." I laughed.
"are you guys becoming something serious?"
"noooooo.." I rolled my eyes, "we're just friends lauren."
"yeah for now." she smirked.

"do you miss him?"
"what? who?"
"harry.."
"ashton..." I sighed and stood up kicking the sand from my toes.
"what it's just a question, him being your best friend and all.." he stared me in the eyes, towering over me.
"I know but I don't miss him.. not yet anyways.."
"alright just making sure you aren't sad baby.." he leaned forward and kissed my nose.
"i know, i love you."
"i love you more," he giggled, kissing me again.
"alright you two come on let's play some volleyball." luke chucked the call at ashton's head.
"oh it's on!" ashton grabbed the ball and ran towards luke who was already sprinting into the water.
"our boyfriends are weird," hannah turned over to look at me.
"tell me about it," I laughed.

"you guys please be careful!" lauren screamed as zayn, luke and ash tried to set up the fireworks, "i really don't wanna take any trips to the hospital tonight."
"oh god i can't watch," hannah covered her eyes as the boys lit the match.
"you should probably used to this hannah, hasn't luke always been a complete dumbass?" Lauren laughed.
"yes.. yes he has but this is some next level shit, I'm going inside. call me if one of them blows off a finger," she ran into the house.
Lauren and I laughed as the boys ran back to us. the fireworks went off successfully and we all cheered. Ashton wrapped his arms around my waist and we looked up at the sky together, "happy 4th baby." he whispered onto my neck.

"sooooooo.. what's the big news?"
"what? what are you talking about?" Lauren shrugged and climbed onto her bed.
"lauren you invited me over and we're eating tacos.. YOU ONLY MAKE TACOS WHEN SOMETHING BIG HAPPENS NO SPILL!"
"ugh fine..." she rolled her eyes. she played with the hem of her shirt and started to blush.
"come on lauren!" I bounced up and down on her bed. all the contents in my taco spilling onto my plate.
"okay okay!" she laughed, "me and zayn are kind of.. a thing now?"
"what!? shut up!"
she nodded her head excitedly and we both screamed. "aw i'm so happy for you Lo,"
"I know, I know. I can't believe its finally like official," she smiled, "but thanks manibear. hey maybe we can do a double date sometime" she nudged me with her elbow and we both giggled and continued talking about our boys.

"so that's it? we're done?" Ashton mumbled.
"i don't want this end ashton believe me, i don't.." i bit my lip, holding back tears.
"then why..."
"ashton you're moving.. i just don't think this will work.."
"it's not that far we can make it work," he grabbed my hands.
"California is across the country ash.. plus with the different timezones and us both barely having money to fly.." I sighed and looked at my feet.
"you're right.." he cleared his throat and nodded. his voice was cracking as though he was going to cry but I knew he was holding it in for me.
"I love you so much.." he whispered into my forehead, "I hate that I'm leaving. I hate that my mom and ally's dad are getting a divorce, I hate having to leave you and all my new friends behind, I hate this so much mani."
"I hate it too.." I looked up at him and smiled weakly, "but we can still be friends.. maybe we can.." I trailed off, not seeing how that made this any better.
"yeah.." he wiped his eye giggling, "maybe we can be like pen pals and write each other letters."
"yeah that'd be fun.." I nodded my head and smiled at him.
his mom honked the horn outside signaling him that it was time to leave for the airport. "I love you so much normani kordei hamlet"
"its hamilton..." we said in unison. he leaned forward and kissed me one last time before leaving. I walked him to the door and waved as him and his mom rode off.

"he comes home tomorrow are you nervous?" lauren asked while pouring herself a glass of water.
"not really," I shrugged.
'he comes home tomorrow' was such a weird thing to hear. home is now just zayn, lauren and myself. niall moved out 3 months ago and sydni left right after harry.
"are you at least a little excited?" she asked. she's been pestering me with questions all day.
"yeah i guess.." I shrugged again. to be completely honest I was excited and I was extremely nervous. a lot can change in 6 months and believe me, I know, I went through it.
"well we're leaving at 6 tomorrow morning so you better get some rest." she smiled.
"yes mom..." I rolled my eyes and hugged her goodnight.
"goodnight love!" zayn called from their bedroom down the hall.
"goodnight zayn!" I laughed and walked upstairs. I climbed into my bed and turned to my left staring at the picture of lauren, harry and I on my side table. the picture was from middle school, my 13th birthday. best birthday i'd ever had thanks to those two. I smiled and eventually dozed off into a deep sleep.
okay so i finally updated yaaaassss
but i really like this chapter you guys, i think it's because of the format I did it in like with the months and junk idk
