The night of Atlas's party had reached for Jack and Blake. Their friend, Wilhelm, who is not of either houses, rather a relative of Prince August, decided to tag along with them, as he was invited. All three were wearing masks, for the party was conveniently a masquerade. They all wore the same gold plated, intricate mask, thinking it would be like one of those cool bro things to all wear the same thing. The friends were walking down the street towards the ever growing lights of the party.
Handsome Jack laughed, pointing at his mask, "I'm wearing a mask on top of my mask!"
The other two laughed at that, though Wilhelm rolled his eyes and said with a grin, "This is why Atlas hates you guys."
"Hmm, speaking of which," Blake thought for a second, "What should we say our reason for being there is? We never got a formal invitation, Jack."
"Well, don't give them a super lengthy explanation; don't need a huge speech or an extra entrance. I honestly don't think they'll take too much notice of you two," Wilhelm reassured, crossing his arms.
A silence wavered upon the group and Handsome Jack frowned for a split second, "I don't really feel like getting in there and dancing.
"But you've come all this way; you should dance," Wilhelm patted Jack's back.
Jack cringed, concealed by his mask, "Not to sound poetic or anything, cuz that would be stupid, my shoes have leaden soles, whilst yours' are of nimble soles, a reflection of our souls; I cannot move."
"And I always thought you were a fighter not a lover, Jack," Wilhelm continued, "And to also sound poetic, take the fact that you're a lover to an advantage; use Cupid's wings to fly higher than everyone else."
"Ah, but his arrow has pierced me too deep to fly. The wounds I have gained weigh me down along with the heavy weight of love," Jack frowned, and then cringed after hearing what just came out of his mouth.
Wilhelm rolled his eyes at Jack's mini-poem, "But if you're weighed down, you're dragging love down with you and it's not right for one to drag a thing as tender as love down, so you should let go, Jack."
"Love is not tender, Wilhelm; it's too rough, too hurtful, like a thorn." Jack sighed.
Wilhelm winked, "Well, if love plays rough with you, be rough back; I know you like it rough."
The three finally approached the Atlas manor after a while of their banter.
Blake said to the group, knocking on the door, "Come on, let's go in!"
"I think I'm gonna sit outside, guys," Jack backed away from the doorway, looking for a place to sit, "You can't lose if you don't play."
"Aw, come on, you fuddy duddy! It'll be fun!" Wilhelm pulled on Jack's arm.
Jack attempted to reason, "I know we mean well by going here, but I don't think it's even a good idea for us to be here."
"Why?" Wilhelm gave him an unimpressed look.
Jack crossed his arms, "Well, I had a dream last night."
"I did, too," Wilhelm smiled.
Jack eyed him suspiciously, "About what?"
"That you won't believe your eyes that you're full of shit, my guy," Wilhelm sang along to the tune of "Fireflies" by Owl City whilst trying to push Jack through the doorway. If he wasn't his friend, Jack probably would have shot him right then and there, so he settled for glaring at Wilhelm.
"Dreams are stupid," Wilhelm continued.
Blake interrupted the two fools, "Come on, now; dinner's already over, let's get in there before the party's over."
Jack looked at Blake blankly, "I fear we've gotten here too early. I have a feeling this is the start of something bad, perhaps my death," he clapped, "Anyway, onward, boys!"
"Let's go!" Blake entered the house, the two following behind.
