Whilst Moxxi and Knoxx were giving Jack a visit, Rhys sat in his room, anxious. He fidgeted with a nearby pen, awaiting his servants' return. He ran his organic hand through his hair and murmured to himself in distress, "I sent Moxxi at nine!" He glanced at his clock, eyeing the hands that struck a quarter past 12, "Maybe she can't find him? Nah, maybe she just got caught up in something?" He shook his head and set down the pen, looking out his window, "What if she doesn't return? Ok, haha, not gonna lie, I'm getting kinda worried now." His pet robot, Dumpy, beeped in response to his owner's apprehensiveness in an attempt to erode his anxieties. Rhys picked up the pen and started tapping it on his wooden desk, still nervous. At that, Moxxi finally entered the room, a frown adorning her face.
Rhys threw the pen down onto the desk in surprise at the sudden entrance. He jumped up from his chair, exclaiming, "There you are! So, what's the news? Any response from Jack?" He paused, noticing the expression on his dear nurse's face, "Uh, what's the matter, Moxxi? Is everything ok?"
Moxxi rolled her eyes and sat down, "I'm tired, sugar; I've been running around all day, give me a second."
"Come on, Moxxi! Don't leave me in suspense!" Rhys crossed his arms, awaiting the nurse to finally bring forth the news.
Moxxi sighed, "Calm down, Rhysie. Give me a second, I'm out of breath."
"How can you be out of breath if you have enough breath to tell me that you're out of breath?" Rhys sassed back, pacing around the room, "Well, is the news good or bad, can you at least tell me?"
"Well," Moxxi got up from her seat, putting her hands on her hips, "Let's just say you made a bad choice, sugar. You don't know how to pick a man. Jack? No, not him; though he has the handsomest face of all men in this god forsaken kingdom, but that's not too much to speak of. He's not the most polite man I've ever laid my eyes on, yet he's as gentle as a lamb. Do whatever you want, that's your choice. I'd rather you be with Prince August, but as long as you're happy, Rhys, I'll cheer you on," She shifted her weight, "Now, have you had lunch yet?"
Rhys crossed his arms, "No I haven't had lunch yet and you haven't really told me any news!" He ran his hand through his hair and gave her an apologetic look as she winced, "Sorry, sorry. I didn't mean for it to come out like that. Now, did he say anything about our marriage?"
Moxxi sighed and sat back down, "Goodness, Rhys; curse you for sending me all over town and then yelling at me when I finally get back home. What a headache I've got!"
Rhys sat next to Moxxi on his bed, putting his arm around her. He said sweetly, "I'm sorry, Moxxi; I didn't mean to give you a headache," He sighed, "Can you please tell me what my love has said?"
"Like an honorable, kind, and handsome gentleman, your love said- wait, where is your mother?" Moxxi got back up, leaving Rhys in confusion.
Rhys gave the nurse a look and then countered sarcastically, "Where is my mother? Of course she's inside, downstairs! What a strange response, though: 'Your love said- wait, where is your mother?' What a gentleman."
"Rhys, are you seriously this impatient?" Moxxi rolled her eyes and started walking to the door, "You're being ridiculous. From now on, you take care of your own romantic escapades."
"Come on, Moxxi. Don't be like that, what did Jack say?" Rhys, too got up from the bed and crossed his arms unindulgently.
Moxxi turned around and faced him, "Do you have permission to go to confession today at Friar Claptrap's?"
"Uh yes, why?" Rhys tilted his head in confusion.
Moxxi smiled, winking, "Then you better hurry up to Friar Claptrap's basement. There's that man named Jack there waiting for you to make you his husband," Rhys almost squealed in excitement, "Now go, sugar. I got to go a different path to get a ladder that Jack will use to climb into your room when it's dark. Don't get too rowdy tonight, hon."
"Thank you, Moxxi" Rhys giggled as the nurse sashayed out of his room. He was so excited, he was quite literally jumping up and down, along with Dumpy. After that rush of anticipation, he shut his blinds and started rummaging through his closet to find the perfect outfit to wear on this most exhilarating day.
