Jack walked out of Rhys's room to the balcony, the latter following. It was still dark outside, though it was beginning to get light enough to where one would know that the sunrise was soon due. Thin clouds whisped throughout the sky, not yet covering the stars nor the planet bound moon. It was a crisp night, despite the recent heatwaves occurring through the city. Rhys felt the soft wind lightly caress his hair. He began, Jack turning around to face him, "Are you going? It's still a while until daybreak. You don't have to leave yet..."

"Look, Rhysie," he gestured to the horizon, beginning to slowly gain light, "day's already coming. I can't stay much longer."

Rhys nodded. He didn't want Jack to go, but he knew he had to. He stared at the ground, "You better go then," he returned his vision to Jack, seeing the light growing in his peripheral vision, "I see more light. Go on."

Jack frowned. He was about to begin again, but was interrupted by the doors to Rhys's room opening. He jumped, ready for battle. He relaxed, once he saw it was just Moxxi sauntering in.

She put a hand on her hip but pulled a face of worry, "Sugar, your mother's coming up to your room," She turned to Jack, "And daylight's just about here. I'd go if I were you."

Jack nodded and pulled Rhys in for a quick goodbye kiss. It was swift so that Jack didn't overstay his welcome in the city, but it was passionate enough just in case it would be their last one. They parted, sharing a bittersweet gaze. Jack let Rhys out of his embrace and made his way off of the balcony with a ladder.

Rhys softly called out, watching the love of his life leave, "Goodbye, baby. Send your love!"

"I will," he winked and hopped off the ladder, "Goodbye, Rhysie."

"Do you think we'll ever meet again, Jack?"

"Without a doubt, cupcake, without a doubt," Jack called back out and left.

Rhys sighed, resting his chin on his hand. This would be the start of a long string of sleepless and helpless and loveless years. Rhys tried to be hopeful, but he couldn't help but see the negative side of the situation. He shook his head and brought his focus to the present with the rising sun, bringing forth pinks and oranges intermixing with the clouds.

"Rhys, are you awake?" He heard his mother's voice call from the inside. He jumped out of his leaning position on the railing of the balcony and entered his bedroom. He maneuvered his way through the dimly lit room, the only light coming from the sunrise, and opened his door. He saw his mother, who gave him a strange look. A mix of concern and joy, like she had exciting news to tell him. But what news could bring up his mood now that Jack had left? It's not like she would tell him that Jack is magically no longer exiled and that she knows of and accepts their marriage. Nothing except that would be valid news to Rhys.

His mother began again, crossing her arms, "How are you feeling, Rhys?"

He frowned, "Not too good."

"Are you going to cry over your cousin's death forever, Rhys?" She put a hand on her hip, "You can't grieve forever."
