your eyes so blue
they spoke to me
of dreams I never knewyour lips so sweet
have promised me
such heavenly delightyour heart so pure
it gave to me
a love I don't deserveI took your name
without a thought
its echo is my curseI drowned your voice
deaf to your plea
its sound is all I hearI would give all I have
to undo what I did
lest your image
will burn my soul to ashflora
Author's Notes: this poem was inspired by my fantasy story The Enchanted Spring and the elf Andor, who is consumed by guilt after having turned the human girl Rose into a flower.
