Two days later, Monday arrived and I was trying to get ready, but my black School skirt was nowhere to be found. I had looked through my wardrobe, and now I was frantically searching through my cupboards. Still, I had no luck. I stepped back, turned around away from the chest of draws, and sighed. Guess I'll just have to wear my trousers, I thought just as something unexpected happened.
Out of the corner of my eye, I caught a glimpse of something black through the air from the direction of the drawers. Then it landed on the floor next to my feet.
"What the hell? What was that?" I gasped as I looked down at the black thing. It was my skirt.
Taken back by the very strange occurrence, I swiftly looked back at the draw and then back down at the skirt. How could it fly out like that? I knelt and picked it up.
What does this mean? Is this my power?
Grinning with newfound energy coursing through my body and a spring in my step, I started to put on the skirt and finished getting ready. Today was going to be a good day and I felt in the mood to fully do my makeup.
When I was ready I went downstairs for breakfast, where my family was sitting at the table. Then I sat down along with them as I said, "Good morning," my voice was almost sing-songy.
"What's up with all the make-up are you trying to impress someone?" My brother Alex asked me.
"No, I just decided to wear make-up today. There's nothing wrong in that, is there?" I questioned and he shrugged his shoulders before going back to eat his breakfast.
"I thought you were moving out anyway?" I asked him.
"I am next week when I get my flat sorted out," he told me and I just nodded, turning around to make myself a bowl of the cereal that was out.
Once I had done that I remembered what happened back up in my room and decided to tell them. "Oh, I think that my powers are coming. I was looking for my skirt but I couldn't find it. When I gave up, it came flying out of my draw and fell on the floor."
"That's great, sweety. I told you, didn't I? That there was nothing to worry about, that your power would come," she told me, with a smile.
"Yeah, it's great," was all I said, and then returned to my breakfast.
Later I had finished my breakfast just as Sophie and Liam knocked on the door. I jumped out of my seat. "Have a good day at school," my dad told me.
"I will see you later," I called, and opened the front door.
"Hey," Liam said.
"Hey," I said and stepped outside shutting the door behind me. We started walking to school.
During the school morning, all we did was revise. That is all we did all week revise and revise. It had been so boring, that I won't bore you too with any details.
Anyway, I felt glad when our lunch break arrived. My friends and I sat in the packed and noisy canteen after we had bought our food. I had gotten chicken Pasta with Salad.
"Erm... something strange happened this morning," Sam whispered.
"What do you mean?" Peter asked him.
"Well, this morning as I was walking to the kitchen the candles my mum keeps in the living room set alight by themselves but that can't happen can it?" He said.
"No, it's not possible," Liam told him.
"Yeah. So I was thinking maybe I was the one who did it but I can't have. I don't have superpowers like you guys," Sam said.
