Marcus POV

A year has passed, and I've finally rebuilt my group to allow me to travel with Imani. She has enough to travel around the world and I will be joining her. It took some convincing for me to pay for anything, but she gave in after some persistent persuasion. She will book the flights and I will take care of holding, food and whatnot with her contributing on certain things along the way.

But before we travel, I am going to pop the big question. Our relationship and bond have grown, along with her beauty and intelligence.

I'm currently making breakfast with my love, our peaceful morning is interrupted by my phone ringing. I answer it, "Hello, Marcus speaking." One of my allies speaks on the other end, "Marcus! Set a meeting for tonight! The BLUE BLOODS ARE BACK! CHRIS IS BACK!"

My blood runs cold, I look at Imani as she looks at me with the same expression. "I understand, it will be tonight at 9. Spread the word." He understands and ends the call, I feel a pair of arms hug me from behind. Her angelic voice fills the room, "We'll end them, for good this time."

I guess it's time to beef up security.

Timeskip

"Marcus! Why can't I join the meeting?" I sigh and give Imani a soft smile, "Because these old farts aren't as...with with times as I am." She groans, "Then let me prove them wrong, we reviewed the new information together. Come on!? " I think for a moment but before I can give her an answer a knock interrupts me. "Come in."

One of my men open the door, "It's time sir." I nod and he leaves, I give Imani a quick peck on the lips and smile, "I'll be back later, love you." She pouts a bit, "Love you too." I walk out and make my way to the meeting room, once I enter I greet the leaders of the various Mafia groups that want the Blue Bloods to go down.

I sit at the head of the table and we start to revise our plan to take them down. It's fairly simple, we use half of our soldiers to draw out their men and illuminate them. Then we take the rest and attack Chris, with all of our weapons and the sightings and the spy's information we have on him we can take him down.

We discuss our plan, managing where we are going to hide our men and which weapons we are going to use for the first wave. A leader speaks up, "This should be easy, let's start in the east we can let them all go out and corner them. Then we can use the new bombs I've been designing, it can take them all out in one blow. It hasn't been tested yet, but-"

A familiar voice fills the room, "Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory. Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat." All of us look at the now open door to see Imani.

Imani POV

I sneak to the meeting room to see the door is cracked a bit, Marcus's men don't stop me due to the fear of me beating their ass. I lean in and listen into there conversation, from the sound of it there plan is the old one and doesn't sound very full proof. I look down on some of my notes on the matter to see a large printed picture, I look over it to see it's something we forgot to go over together.

A man speaks, "This should be easy, let's start in the east we can let them all go out and corner them. Then we can use the new bombs I've been designing, it can take them all out in one blow. It hasn't been tested yet,-" I cut him off, if he continues I might explode.

I walk in the room and interrupt him, "Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory. Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat." They all look at me, a fairly old man stands and glares at me. "Who are you and what are you doing here! He snaps his fingers and men in suits and red ties enter the room to throw me out. I glare at them and they stop in their tracks, "Leave."

They walk out closing the door behind them, I look back at the table of men as they stare at me in shock. I give them a soft smile, "I don't advice you to cross me." The man growls and sits in his seat, I look at Marcus and he nods giving me an encouraging smile.

"You need to change your plan a bit, there is one thing that you forgot to include and that is the number of there men." I walk over to Marcus and place the papers down except for one, "There is a rumor that the Blue Bloods are buying men from the underground and Human Trafficking nets to add to there men. It says that some of these men have been tested on and used as subjects, which has led to them being stronger than the average man. You guys may have dismissed it due to the fact that it is a rumor but one picture your spies have taking confirms it." I show them the picture and they look a bit confused so I explain it to them.

"It's a bit blurry but you can see 3 things in this picture that enough for us to go off of." I point at them, "The bundle of chains, the human foot in between the bars and the red curtain." The three things I pointed out were hard to see at first glance but if analyze it then it can be clear as day, I pass it around and watch as they begin to put the pieces together.

I continue, "One of your spies might have been in a rush to leave so their last picture didn't turn out so clear. But with this information, we need to change our plans a bit." They finally look at me and have my full attention. Before I can continue a suited-up man bust through the room, "It's a message from the Blue Bloods!" He runs over to Marcus and he opens the envelope, he reads over it and frowns, "We have 5 days before we have to meet him and fight."

I smirk at him, "That's all the time we need."

He smirks and leans back in his chair, "Please, continue~"

All of those books on war and strategy I read over the years paid off. The hours passed on reconstructing our plan we for the upcoming war, 5 more spies will be sent out to gather more intel on the Blue Bloods men. Our next meeting will be in 3 days to finalize everything, between that we'll train our men.

Once the meeting was called to an end, I was swarmed with the Mafia leaders asking a question about myself, who exactly am I and where I learned my strategic skills from. I start to explain to them my hobby of reading books like the Art of War ever since I was younger. Many were amazed and I started to get overwhelmed. I felt a pair of arms pull me from the crowd and I smile knowing it belongs to Marcus.

They look shocked at his sudden expression of affection, "My name is Imani, and I am the girlfriend of Marcus Rosano."
