Chapter 20 - Dead-Ass Serious

Marcus POV

It's been a year since Imani and I got married, and things have been great. Traveling to different counties has not only been exciting but fulling, learning new things and having the love of my life right by my side. 

We're currently in Japan snacking on random Japanese snacks and lounging around. I look at Imani to see her snacking on some Pocky, then she gets up and runs to the bathroom. I run after her and rub her back while moving her hair out of her face while she lets it all out. Once she's done she walks over to the sink and starts to brush her teeth.

"Imani, that's the 5th time you've thrown up this week! Maybe we should go back to California a bit early."

She shakes her head, "I'll be fine, I promise. We're already leaving at the end of the week, I can wait until then." I frown a bit, she kisses my cheek and heads back to the coach. I plop down next to her, she leans in and dozes off. I soon follow her lead and take a cat nap with her. 

Next Day 

Imani POV

I went to the store to pick up some water, I've been feeling a bit sick so maybe I can get some medicine. As I make my way to the fridge and pick up a couple of bottoles I go to the medicine aisle.

As I look through the medicine, I see a picture of a pregnant lady. I pick it up and read over it, 'It's a pregnancy test, when's the last time I had my crampy blood rituals?' I look over the instructions and shrug my shoulders, "It wouldn't hurt to take a test." I put it in my basket and head to check out.

Once I pay for everything, I walk back to the hotel in pure bliss. As I walk to the hotel I see an Ice Cream shop, "That looks good!" I walk in and order some ice cream, "いつのスクープバナナ、スクープカレーやショッピング施設や一部の乾燥イチゴ? 蓋をしたカップに入れてくれないか? (Can I get 1 scoop of banana, another scoop of Curry and Mint and some dried strawberries? Oh, can you put it in a cup with a lid please.)" 

The lady smiles at me and quickly makes my order, I pay for it and she gives it to me in a cute small bag. She bows slightly to say thanks, "おめでとう! (Congratulations!)" I give her a confused smile but nod anyway, I leave the Ice Cream shop and continue my peaceful journey back to the hotel. 

I unlock the door, "Marcus! I'm back!" I hear nothing, I put the bag on the countertop and walk around the hotel room to see it's completely deserted. Then I notice a note next to the bed, "Went out to mail some stuff. I'll be back soon, Marcus." 

I smile a bit and start to put the water in the fridge, I pick up the pregnancy test and stare at it. "Might as well try it now."

I walk to the bathroom closing the door behind me, I follow the instructions and do my business. The stick starts to beep, I look down to see 2 sticks. The whole world stops, "I'm pregnant." I place the test back in the box and flush the toilet, then I wash my hands and grab the box.

I put it back in the bag, grab my ice cream, spoon and sit on the couch. I let my thoughts run, as I munch on the ice cream, which I'm now realizing is one of my weird cravings. Then I think about me throwing up and me being sleepy all the time. It all makes sense I smile a bit and place my hand on my stomach.

 "Hi there, I know you can't hear me but I'm really excited to see you." I hear the door unlocking, I hide the bag under a pillow and stand, greeting Marcus at the door. "Hey." He smiles, "Hey, what up?" 

I start to get overwhelmed, 'What if he doesn't want the baby! What if leaves us!? What if..you know what. FUCK IT.' 

I grab his hand and walk him over to the bed, "Sit here and stay here." He nods slowly, I walk over to the coach and grab the bag. He seems a bit confused, I turn around and open the bag tossing it on the floor. I turn my head, "Close your eyes." 

He does as told, I open the box and throw it on the floor. I get on my knees in front of him, "Give me your hand." He does as told, I place the top of the pregnancy test in his hand.

"You can open your eyes now."

He looks down and his eyes grow wide, he looks at me and starts to cry. I start to cry as well but smile none the less, "Marcus, I'm Pregnant." He looks down then back at me, he drops the test and picks me up. I laugh as he spins me around, the smile and tears never seem to leave him as we celebrate. 

"I'm so happy! You're carrying our child, we're going to be parents! I'm going to be a father!" He kisses me on the lips, I melt a bit. Once our lips part, he carries me to the bed and sets me down. I lean into his warmth as he lays down next to me, he places his hand on my stomach and I place my hand on his. 

No POV 

Just as planned the 2 went back to the states at the end of the week, while in Japan they invited the family over for a welcome back dinner. Ever since Marcus found out that Imani was pregnant he has been super protective, while others think he's weird Imani thinks it's cute.

Marcus finishes cooking the last bit of dinner as Imani entertains the family. Marcus calls for dinner and they all sit at the dinner table. As the meal goes on Marcus grabs everyone's attention, "We have some important news for all of you."

Marcus POV

I put on a serious face and clear my throat to get everyone's attention, "We have some important news for all of you." They all look worried, I look at Imani and she takes a deep breath. "I'm pregnant." Everyone stares at us, freezing what ever they were doing. Faith drops her fork which seems to resume time. Her, mom, and Ruby all walk over to Imani and give her a big bear hug. Johnathan and dad walk over to me and congratulate me, everything was sweet and wholesome until dad pointed something out.  

"If you get a girl, I hope she-" I zone out, 'A Girl.'

I give dad a small smile, "If I get a girl then I have to kill any boy that comes near her." The room grows quiet but is soon filled with laughter. 'I'm being dead-ass serious!'
