No POV
The months pass for the couple, while Imani's belly grows bigger so does the love that seems to only prosper in there home. Their baby girl is very active in Imani's stomach, kicks whenever she wants or likes something.
During Imani's pregnancy, she's been working out every morning in the living room. While Marcus takes his time on cooking the bizarre breakfast that seems to get weirder by the day. Form peanut butter, ketchup and scrambled eggs to avocado toast with chocolate syrup. But both Imani and the baby seem to love it.
Imani POV
I'm on my last month, the baby could come at any minute. So Marcus and I finally decide to sit down on the couch and settle on a name. We seem stumped, but then I notice Marcus scrolling through his phone in curiosity. Then his eyes wide, "I didn't know you were named after Faith!" I think for a moment, "I thought I told you, Imani means faith in Swahili." He pulls me close and kisses my forehead, "Then let's name her Hope."
I think for a moment and smile, "It's perfect."
Next Day
I'm currently watching a movie with Marcus, I then feel something wet in my pants. I look down to see water coming out of me. "Marcus, I think my water broke." We stare at each other for a moment, then he starts to panic. He picks me up and runs to the garage and into the car. We zoom off to the hospital trying to follow all of the driving laws.
I quickly get a room, 'Let birth begin.'
Mini Timeskip
Marcus POV
My hand feels like jelly, like each bone has been reduced to ashes. But it's all worth it, I look down at Imani holding our beautiful baby Hope. Fear once stuck us, since Hope didn't cry when she exited her strong mother. Soon after she opens her eyes, and once she was clean she started to smile at seeing her mother.
I couldn't help but cry, my gorgeous girls have me wrapped around there finger. "Marcus?" I snap out of it, "Hold our Hope." I nod and hold my daughter, she's so small. Our eyes lock and Hope freezes, she reaches for my face so I give her a finger instead. Once it's in front of her she holds it tight and smiles.
"Hi, Hope. I'm your papa, I'll protect you I promise."
Soon the family comes in, we introduce them to Hope. They melt at her smiles and small movements, I sit next to Imani and hold her hand. "You did a fantastic job, rest you look sleepy." She nods and starts to sleep, I soon grab a sleeping Hope and place her next to her sleeping mother.
I smile once again at my goddesses, "My beautiful girls."
Years Later
"Hope! Breakfast is ready!" A little girl comes running down the stairs carrying a book. She puts her book on the table and gets in the chair, then she continues to read. I smile, 'Just like her mother.'
Imani walks over to Hope and gives her a quick kiss on the cheek, "When the food touches your plate that book better be marked and closed Hope." Hope continues to read, "Ok, mama." She smiles at her and gives me a quick kiss on the lips. "Morning love."
I smile at her, "Morning." She grabs the apple juice from the fridge and pours our glasses. I plate our food, and once I place a plate in front of Hope she closes her book and smiles at me. "Thanks, Papa!"
I smile at her and nod, we eat our breakfast and chat from here and there. As soon as Hope finishes her meal, she excuses herself. Imani tilts her head, "Where are you going?"
She smiles at her, "To the library, I want to pick up a few books before I see Auntie Faith and Uncle John." She smiles and nods, "Don't take too long, we're leaving shortly." She nods and continues her journey.
I hold Imani's hand, "I love you." She smiles at me, "I love you too."
In the midst of my dark days a goddess came and showed me a world full of light. When I thought I was alone, she was there to guide me back home. This family, my family will always be ready for anything. My family will be ready to conquer the world's strife and face it head-on.
