Summary: After spending almost most of the year apart, you and Katie meet up again.

You and Katie met while she was on her Christmas break. It was the typical cliche meeting of running into each other and someone spilling coffee on the other. Katie was absolutely delighted when you didn't even recognize her and invited you for coffee after managing to spill yours and the rest was history.

Your apartment was a complete mess and Katie would be coming over in a couple of hours. The visit had come as a total surprise as she had said filming wouldn't end for another two weeks. Although, it was a short notice, you were just glad that she coming over to visit.

Her plane was landing in a few minutes and you were excited to be able to see her again. Talking to her through a screen was just not the same as seeing her in person.

"(Y/n)!"

It took you a couple seconds to realize where to voice was coming from but it was enough to catch her as rushed into a hug.

"Katie! Oh god. I missed you so much, babe."

The two of you gave each other a quick kiss before you took her bags and led her to your car while holding hands.

Since Katie was such a private person, the PDA was always kept to a minimum whenever the two of you went out in public. Katie hated having her relationships known to the public as she knew they would tear down her partner. It's been a couple of months since the two of you started dating and keeping the relationship a secret had been a success. Not even her costars from Supergirl knew about it. It never really bothered you as you hated the attention and so you were more than okay with keeping it a secret.

"I just love what you've done with the place."

Since Katie had last visited, you practically remodeled your entire house. The empty rooms that she last saw were remodeled as a small library and a game room.

"Especially the library. Did you really do that for me."

You loved reading but because you're always so busy with work, you hardly have the time to even finish one. You always tried your best to finish the books Katie had recommended or sent to you but that was it.

"Of course. This is your own personal space. I left most of the shelves empty so we start your own little library."

With a quick kiss and a hug, she walked over to the shelves to see what you had picked out for her.

"Well you certainly managed to get all my favorites. Did my brother help you out?"

"I did most of the work but your brother did help me. I had to bribe him to keep this a secret from you."

"I'm glad he was able go keep his mouth shut then. This was certainly a lovely surprise."

Once you had given her a tour of the place, you led her back into the kitchen, figuring that she must be starving from the long plane ride.

The kitchen was mainly quiet except for the noises of the quiet music and the sounds of your two preparing the food. Katie wasn't particularly craving any kind of food so dinner ended up just being some simple tacos and some beers. The rest of the evening was spent catching up and as the evening went on, it made you realize why you held a box in your pocket.

You knew Katie was it for you. Everything about her was perfect. There was no one else in the world for you and you just knew that you wanted to marry her. At the mark of the 6th month of being together, you went out and got her a ring. It wasn't too big nor was it too small, it was just the perfect size. After that, you've been spending most of your time trying to figure out how you could pop the question.

"What's wrong?"

The question came out of nowhere and it brought you back to her. Apparently, you had let your mind drift off.

"I'm sorry. I've just been thinking of some things. Nothing to worry about. It's just work stuff. Which I shouldn't even worry about as I've asked for a week off."

You knew exactly what she was going to ask when you said nothing so you were prepared to give a somewhat honest answer. You've never been the greatest liar especially when it came to Katie.

"If you say so, darling. That reminds me, I wanted to talk to you about something. I know how I said I'll be spending my vacation here with you but I let my manager book me for a couple of conventions. It's only 4 of them and they are all within two weeks so we would still get to spend some time together before I have to head back out."

You give her a wide smile and take her hand, kissing the back of it.

"Then I'll be looking forward to your interviews. I love hearing you speak so passionately about your work. It certainly does things to me."

She smirked and didn't say anything as she began to clean up. You weren't sure what she had in mind but figured the right thing to do was help her clean up.

Once the kitchen and dining table were clean, she took your hand and led you to the couch.

"It's unfortunate that I won't be able to be here to take care of what I caused but maybe I can make it up to you now."

She sat on your lap, wrapping her arms around your neck and leaned in to give you a soft kiss.

"We have the whole week to ourselves and a lot of catching up."

The two of you ended up passing out of exhaustion from trying to make it up to each other for being away so far. Words and images could get the two of you off but it just wasn't the same without touching the other.
