Meeting the Cast

Katie had arrived back in Vancouver on Sunday morning. She had no idea you would be arriving Sunday night so you could be surprising her. The idea was for her to pick you up at the airport on Monday morning but you knew she would be trying to get as much rest to be able to film the rest of the day.

You took a taxi to her place but made a quick stop at the flower shop to surprise her. After arriving, you knock and patiently waited for her to open the door.

Apparently she was having dinner with most of the cast as you saw Melissa opening the door for you.

"Woah. I did not expect that. You must be the one that gave Katie her ring."

"I am."

You tried to look inside her place but Melissa blocked your view. She closed the door behind her. Melissa didn't say anything as she gave you a once-over. It made you nervous, not really knowing what she was thinking.

"I'm looking out for Katie. So these questions are purely to make sure that you're good enough for her."

You simply nodded, the look she was giving you was scary and it baffled you as to how she managed to do so. Katie would always say Melissa was the sweetest and kindest person she had ever met, this was not what you had expected.

"Good. What are your intentions with Katie?"

It was as if you were meeting Katie's family all over again. Which was quite brutal considering her brothers were quite overprotective of her.

"My intentions with Katie are being able to make her happy, to be there for her, make her laugh and just be the one that is able to be enough for Katie."

Melissa was interrupted by Katie coming out of her place.

"Babe! You're here. I though you weren't getting here until Monday."

"I um wanted to surprise you. Surprise!"

She laughed at your antics and took the flowers from you.

"(y/n), this is Melissa. Melissa, this is (y/n). She's the one that put a ring on me as you so nicely put it. Come on. The rest of the cast is dying to meet you as well."

You sighed in relief when Katie led you inside with the rest of the cast. Melissa following you close behind.

Melissa didn't hate or a have any ill feelings towards you. It was the opposite actually. She had seen Katie be much more happier since a couple of months ago and she's guessing it had something to do with you suddenly coming into her life.

Chyler gave you a hug as Katie introduced the two of you. She gave you a smile after thanking her for saving Katie from the interview and promised that the three of you should do something together. Chyler, after all wanted to know more about the mysterious girl that was suddenly marrying her best friend.

Nicole, Azie and Andrea were ecstatic to finally meet you. They had their suspisiouns of Katie dating someone but never brought it up. All they knew was that Katie was much more happier after the terrible breakup she had with her ex. It was a rough couple of weeks since Katie hardly even got out of her place no matter what they tried. They are assuming she managed to meet you during the Christmas break since Katie had come back to work much happier.

Mehcad, David and Jesse were just happy for Katie. They knew it was none of their business to meddle in Katie's life to make sure you weren't just using her for her fame but by the looks of the ring that you had given her, you didn't seem to be one of those who chased famous people.

Meeting Katie's friends had gone much better than you had expected. Most of them were very welcoming. Melissa just seemed someone that wanted to make sure that I wouldn't hurt Katie on purpose and you understood that.

Everyone sat down for dinner and began to talk about Katie's relationship with you. Mainly the questions were about how the two of you met and how long it had been going on. Once they were satisfied with your answers, they had switched the topic to talk about what they would be expecting for the new season. You, of course had no idea what they knew since Katie refused to give you any spoilers but they were nice about it and made an effort to include you in their conversations.

Soon enough, it was time for everyone to be heading back to their new place since they'll start filming the new season. Katie had gone downstairs to say goodbye to some of the cast while you stayed inside with Melissa to help cleanup.

"You're not what I expected."

"I'm sorry?"

You stopped cleaning to pay more attention to her.

"I know Katie was private about her life but I never thought she would keep her relationship from her friends well I suppose best friends. I just thought that she didn't want us to meet you because you might've been a huge ass. I was wrong and I'm sorry. I'm glad Katie was able to find someone like you."

You gave her a smile.

"We only hid it because we didn't want to risk for anyone to accidentally talk about it. Especially, after the whole incident with David and almost revealing Katie's birthday. You know how private she was. Plus my work requires for me to be extremely discrete and I can't really be out in the public light."

"I know. We completely understand. I should get going. You two must have a lot of catching up to do."

You suddenly felt flustered about what Melissa had been implying.

"It was nice to meet you, Melissa."

"Likewise, (y/n)"

She gave you a hug and went downstairs to say goodbye to Katie.

A few minutes later and Katie came back in, sporting a smile.

"They all seem to love you. Including Melissa. I know she was a little mean at the beginning."

"It's all good. She had her reasons but we've worked it all out."

"I'm glad. We should head to bed. I'm exhausted after all that traveling."

The two of you headed upstairs to change into your pajamas and soon fell asleep in each others arms, dreaming of your wedding.
