Part 4

Quinn’s POV

I woke up the next morning, feeling elated. My mate was in my arms, smiling, sleeping. That was until I remember what caused her to have to say in my bed. My blood started boiling.

I looked over at my precious mate, her lip was still swollen and busted and her hand was turning purplish now. I cringed just looking at it. I gently glided my fingers over her lips, and slowly but assuredly, her busted lip, looked almost healed. I made sure to do the same with her hand, so it was normal color but probably still throbbing.

I wanted to heal her fully but then she was ask unneeded questions, ones that I couldn’t answer just yet, so it was better to leave a little of it unhealed. It was very rare for a werewolf to have a gift, a magic power, but we did have them, considering our ancestors were witches and wolves. It was even rare, however, for the son of an Alpha to have a magic ability, and even more so rare, a gift of healing.

Most werewolves, if they got a magic power, was something small, like being able to sense someone’s emotions at will, or super speed, since werewolves in packs were able to read each other’s minds anyway and we were already pretty fast, it wasn’t such a big step up. Being able to heal at will was a truly amazing gift. There was a catch however. I had to feel some sort of emotion, some really strong emotion, in order for it to work. My parents had looked into it and my Aunt Clarisse, who isn’t really my aunt, but I call her that, who was a witch, had told me that I could even bring back the dead, but I had to feel an immense, strong, deep emotion for that to work.

For a werewolf though, my power was extremely rare and different. Lots of people would love to get their hands on it. I being the son of the alpha, soon to inherit the title, was simply a bonus. So to say that I was the most sought after werewolf in the werewolf world, wasn’t simply an exaggeration. It also made having a mate, extremely hard, especially one that didn’t even know anything about me. Penny could be targeted as a way to get to me and she could also be greatly affected by what happened to me, since we were so linked to each other already.

I began feel the signs of her waking up, so I forced myself out of my thoughts, smiling down at my mate. She stirred, rousing herself from her deep, quiet, slumber.

“Good morning sunshine.”

At first she looked confused, then scared and then everything seemed to come back to her. I watched as millions of emotions came flashed through her eyes, while I attempted to decipher each and every one.

“I know you’re confused about what happened last night, so let’s take this slowly. So how about I make you breakfast, while you find something in my closet, you might be able to wear?” I started off before she could even speak.

“Ok…” She trailed off, a bit hesitant.

I lead her to my room and left her while I made breakfast. Before I left to make breakfast, I made sure to change from last night’s clothes into sweatpants and a t-shirt.

“Would you like fried eggs or omelet?” I asked from the kitchen.

I heard a squeak and a thud as a reply. I quickly rushed to my room, stopping before entering. What if she was changing?

“Are you ok in there?” I asked, concerned.

“Yes, fine. Just fell. Please don’t come in.” She squeaked out.

“Ok, well would you like me to make fried eggs or omelet?” I reiterated.

“Either is fine.” She replied.
